New Year's Eve "Winter Love Song"
On the evening of December 31, young composer Zhang Shichao will join hands with the Xiyu New Classical Orchestra and take the stage at the Poly City Theater in Shanghai to accompany the audience for a romantic cross-Chinese New Year's Eve in the "Winter Love Song". The repertoire of the performance is diverse, from "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence" by Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto to "Your Heart River" by Korean composer Lee Minmin, from "Viva La Vida" by the British rock band "Coldplay" to "Victory" by american music label "Edge of Hell", from the popular gold song "Courage" to the newly interpreted traditional classic "Caiyun Chasing the Moon", Zhang Shichao's original works "Mountain Moon" and "Mountain Language" are also performed.
"The courtyard is a quiet place, surrounded by city ballads, woven into a pine shadow. Look at the first month, I don't know what kind of situation it is in the mountains tonight..." "Moon in the Mountains" is a choral work written by Zhang Shichao, the original words come from Xu Zhimo's "In the Mountains", which he wrote to Lin Huiyin on the sickbed, and the whole article hides the moon. Zhang Shichao was impressed by the poem and composed it into a song, the first half of which was written as a scene and the second half as a love. "Mountain Language" is also a new work, pinning on Zhang Shichao's reliance on freedom.
Xi Yu Neo classical orchestra was founded by viola player Liu Jiayu. In her view, Zhang Shichao's music has connotations, but it is not as deep as traditional classical works, which makes people have a sense of distance, "His depth is something that young people can get, delicate, sensitive, and easy to understand." ”
Stage play "Labyrinth of Hearts"
On the stage, a stilt building about 12 meters high was built flat on the ground. There are seven different spaces throughout the stilt house, connected by a glyph-shaped staircase in the central area of the building, through which the actors travel through different rooms to tell different stories. The stage play "Labyrinth of Hearts" will bring the audience together into a murder case with layers of mysteries. The play will be performed at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center from December 18, 2021 to January 9, 2022.
Last year, the suspense theater brand "Abyss Theater" created by Shangdian launched its first work, the original suspense drama "Abyss". After a year, the second drama of "Abyss Theater", "Labyrinth of Hearts", was completed, which was also directed by He Nian, the director of "Abyss", and Sang Qi and Wang Jiadi served as stage designers. "Labyrinth of Hearts" has further "crazy gameplay" in terms of stage design and real-time photography.
The stage play "Labyrinth of Hearts" is adapted from the film of the same name. The story takes place in a village in Guizhou, under a murder case, and every character in the play seems to be walking on the edge of the law and breaking through the bottom line of morality.
In order to restore the Guizhou village in the story and realize this "peeping sense" of the audience, the crew went to Guizhou to collect style.
"Labyrinth of Hearts" uses a combination of real-life and photography, and sets up different video media on the spot, including old television sets and contemporary theater projections, blending dramatic scenes and video montages. I also tried underwater shooting and aerial photography. There is a pool on the stage, and the play in the pool is added to the underwater photography, providing a multi-layered virtual reality image.
In addition, in addition to the audience view, the show will also have a "villager witness position". A small 2-story building was independently built on the left side of the stage, and the "Villager Witness Position" is located on the second floor of the small building, where the audience can peer through the iron mesh to see the plot that takes place on the first floor. Spectators from the "Villager Witness Position" will enter the audience from the villagers' meeting point at the intersection of Wukang Road and Anfu Road before the performance.
Yanghua New Drama "You and Me, Seven Wonderful Steps of Theater"
On December 10, at the Shunyi Grand Theater in Beijing's Shunyi District, hundreds of spectators watched the premiere of the 2021 Yanghua New Repertoire and Classic Drama Performance Collection "You and Me, Seven Wonderful Steps of the Theater" in accordance with the relevant regulations on epidemic prevention and control. Playwright Cao Yu and Wanfang's seven classic theatrical works are integrated into a touching and chic stage chapter, which is performed by 24 senior stage actors and young stage actors such as Zhang Yue, Yan Guanying, Liu Zhongzhe, He Yunlong, Fu Xing, Liu Xuan, Li Zonglei, Sun Minghan and Luo Yongjuan. After the premiere, the play will also be broadcast on China Education Television for college, middle and primary school students across the country, and will be toured nationwide in 2022.
"You and Me, The Wonderful Seven Steps of Theater" has a very unique dramatic meaning: "You and I" is a book by Cao Yu's daughter Wan Fang to recall her father's generation, "you" and "I" represent the meaning of father and child, past and present, classic and present, drama and audience; "step" and "part" are harmonic sounds, and the seven steps of theater are the fusion of measuring actions and works. The play is composed by the drama, director Wang Keran and literary consultant Wan Fang jointly selected 4 classic plays of Cao Yu, plus 3 fragments of Wan Fang's plays, 7 fragments are both independent chapters and echo each other, 7 drama fragments are interpreted in the same stage set, forming a complete dramatic work. The repertoire opens in a modern environment and plot, and as the stage unfolds, Cao Yu and WanFang's plays fragments "Winter Journey", "Wilderness", "New Wilderness", "Beijinger", "Sunrise", "Do You Still Play Guitar?" "Thunderstorm" is presented on the stage in turn.
Chen Qijun, Lao Jin, Qiu Hu, Liu Tuan, Zeng Wenqing, Xu Fang, Li Shiqing, Dayu, Zhou Chong, Si Feng... Dozens of classic theatrical images that have appeared on the stage spanning nearly a hundred years have also been displayed on the stage in turn. In the participating plays, "Xinhua Newsboy" shows the story of a group of newspaper boys in the city during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression who grew up under the leadership of the party into patriotic teenagers who had the courage to struggle and aspired to be high; the school history drama "The Sound of Reading on the Banks of longsugou" showed a unique cultural memory against the background of the story of "labor and school building". The musical "The Power of Hope", the short drama "Together" and "War "Epidemic" Teenagers tell vivid and touching stories during the "epidemic" and converge into a flesh-and-blood animation. The performances of the two fragments of the play "Thunderstorm" and "The First Floor of the World" pay tribute to the classic drama of Beijing Renyi.
