Xinjiang's first electric vehicle V2G charging station was completed and put into operation in Urumqi

Tianshan Network News (reporter Zhang Dongmei correspondent Li Xiangnan reported) electric vehicles can not only be charged quickly, but also recharge the surplus power in the on-board battery to the power grid during idle hours, and obtain certain economic compensation. In early December, Xinjiang's first electric vehicle V2G charging station was completed and put into operation in Urumqi, further providing users with a convenient "smart new life".

The reporter learned from the State Grid Urumqi Power Supply Company that this charging station is located in the Degang Wanda Business Circle of Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District), which is the first public charging station in Xinjiang to adopt V2G charging technology, which is also the third large-scale charging station invested and built by the State Grid Urumqi Power Supply Company.

V2G describes the interaction between electric vehicles and the grid, which allows electric vehicles to absorb electrical energy when the grid load is low and release electrical energy when the grid load is high. When the electric vehicle is stationary, it can not only charge the car, but also sell electricity to the grid through the grid, innovate the energy consumption experience, and help achieve the goal of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality".

The charging station adopts two advanced charging technologies of V2G charging and orderly charging, and is equipped with 8 sets of 60 kW DC V2G charging piles and 3 sets of 60 kW DC orderly charging piles, which can meet the charging needs of 11 electric vehicles at the same time. V2G charging significantly improves vehicle charging efficiency, and the vehicle can be charged from low to 80% in 40 minutes and can be fully charged in 1 hour.

"The V2G charging station transforms electric vehicles from vehicles into grid interactive hardware, and while improving the convenience of charging, it plays a role in regulating the power grid function of transmitting electricity to the grid during the peak period and charging the vehicle during the valley period, so as to achieve the effect of peak shaving and valley filling and consumption of renewable energy." Ma Lei, deputy director of the marketing department of the marketing department of the State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd., said that the station is expected to provide 3,000 charging services per year and generate 80,000 kWh of charging electricity.

It is reported that the State Grid Urumqi Power Supply Company plans to complete the construction of 23 decentralized charging piles within the year, as of now, the civil infrastructure construction of charging piles has been completed, and it is expected that all will be completed and put into operation before the end of this month.
