Report: It is recommended to improve the top-level plan for vehicles, transportation, and energy to achieve carbon peaking carbon neutrality

Shanghai Securities News China Securities Network News (reporter Li Yuan) China Electric Vehicle 100 Association "Automobile, Transportation, Energy Coordinated Realization of Carbon Peak Carbon Neutrality Goals, Paths and Policies Research" research group recently released a report, analyzing the opportunities, challenges and constraints faced by the automotive, transportation and energy fields in the context of synergy. Combined with the international and domestic low-carbon development situation, the key directions and typical paths for promoting coordinated carbon reduction in the fields of automobiles, transportation and energy are proposed.

The report mentions that in order to cope with the future demand for transportation and the growth trend of private car ownership, it is necessary to continuously promote the process of full electrification of automobiles, optimize the energy structure of urban transportation, and accelerate the popularization of new fuel technology substitution.

The report makes it clear that the bottleneck of renewable energy development will be solved through new energy vehicles. Electric vehicles can solve the problem of discontinuity and instability of renewable energy power generation affected by seasonal, meteorological and geographical conditions through orderly charging, vehicle-network interaction (V2G), power exchange, decommissioned battery energy storage, etc., and it is expected that the intraday V2G and orderly charging flexibility adjustment capacity of electric vehicles will be close to 5 billion kWh in 2030。

At the same time, it is expected that with the increase in the proportion of renewable energy generation, the carbon emissions per unit mileage of pure electric passenger cars will drop by 74% compared with fuel vehicles in 2035.

The report also puts forward policy recommendations for the low-carbon development of automobiles, transportation and energy from the perspective of synergy. First, it is necessary to improve the top-level planning of automobile, transportation, and energy to achieve carbon peak carbon neutrality, and formulate development strategies and action plans. The second is to promote the green and low-carbon development of the whole life cycle of automobiles in terms of carbon emission accounting standards, industrial policy systems, promotion of green manufacturing, and regional and enterprise pilots. The third is to reconstruct the urban green and low-carbon transportation system from the fields of urban transportation structure, carbon emission statistical monitoring system, policy toolbox, and green intelligent transportation infrastructure. The fourth is to strengthen the coordinated development of automobiles and energy by optimizing the energy industry structure, technology research and development, improving standards, and V2G interactive commercial operations.
