On December 11, Beijing time, the Winter Sports Management Center of the State General Administration of Sport issued an announcement on its official website, announcing the list of athletes participating in the pair skating and ice dance events of the Chinese figure skating team Beijing Winter Olympics.
The official announcement made it clear that in view of their excellent performance in the Italian international competition, the two pairs of pairs Sui Wenjing/Han Cong, Peng Cheng/Jin Yang and the ice dance duo Wang Shiyue/Liu Xinyu were identified as participants in the Beijing Winter Olympics, which was also the first batch of athletes announced by the Chinese team for the Beijing Winter Olympics.
In the Italian leg of the season's figure skating grand prix at the end of November, Sui Wenjing/Han Cong, Peng Cheng/Jin Yang won the first and second places in the pair skating event, while Wang Shiyue/Liu Xinyu finished fourth in the ice dance competition.
In addition to the pair skating and ice dance events, the Chinese figure skating team has each obtained one qualification for the Beijing Winter Olympics in the men's and women's singles event, and these two qualifications will be based on the "Measures for the Selection of Athletes for The Figure Skating Singles in the Beijing Winter Olympics" issued by the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of the People's Republic of China, and will be held between December 16, 2021 and January 22, 2022, after a total of five selection matches.
According to the relevant requirements in the official announcement, a total of 6 athletes who meet the participation requirements of this selection competition are men's single skaters Jin Boyang, Yan Han, Chen Yudong, and women's single skaters Chen Hongyi, Zhu Yi and Lin Shan.
