A native of Chengdu, Sichuan, Hu Jianhai joined the army in April 1950 and entered the Korean War in March of the following year.
In the fifth campaign, the 179th Division was blocked by the enemy. When attacking the enemy, Hu Jianhai's calf was pierced by the enemy's bullet, but he still held a submachine gun with his comrades-in-arms and charged at the enemy, and finally beat the US troops away. He then went with the 2nd Battalion to rescue the 180th Division, which was besieged by the enemy. As a result, they encountered the American troops in MaPingli, and the whole battalion fought bravely and tenaciously, fighting hard without backup, and finally broke through the enemy line and continued to advance deeper. In the end, the whole battalion ran out of ammunition and food, and only 16 people were left,—Hu Jianhai was one of them," and had to return.
But their way back was broken. After that, more than a dozen people did not eat for 5 days and 5 nights, encouraged them to go north, climbed the steep walls of mountain rocks, jumped off cliffs and hollows, crossed mountains and mountains, approached the road, cut paths, and finally successfully returned to the team through dense forests.
Unexpectedly, after the war, Hu Jianhai was injured again during his rest in the flower wind. Company sent him to take someone to the logistics station to collect food. While passing through the enemy artillery blockade area, "Boom! A row of shells flew in, and he lay down a little slower, and the shrapnel hit his hips.
He was hospitalized for more than 10 days before he was discharged from the hospital and returned to the team.
In 1953, the 60th Army participated in the Summer Counter-Offensive. The 536th Regiment captured the enemy 938 in one fell swoop. 2 highlands, complete annihilation of a battalion of American troops. However, the US military was not willing to accept defeat, and continuously threw in the strength of the entire platoon, company, and battalion, and with the cooperation of the aircraft artillery, frantically counterattacked. In a battle for position, the soldier Xiaomu of the squad raised her gun and fired despite the enemy's heavy artillery fire. Hu Jianhai shouted:
"Watch out for cover, crouch!"
But the sound of the cannon was so loud that he couldn't hear it. Hu Jianhai jumped out of the trench in a hurry and pressed his shoulder down. At this moment, another row of shells from the enemy came, and a small shrapnel flew in, hitting Hu Jianhai's head, and the blood flowed straight down his shoulder, and Hu Jianhai passed out.
Because the battle was too fierce, no one could take care of Hu Jianhai.
It was not until evening, when the enemy stopped attacking, that the battle ended. So the enemy pulled the corpse in a car. Volunteers also began transporting the wounded and collecting the bodies of fallen comrades. Hu Jianhai stood up straight, out of breath, and everyone in the class thought he had sacrificed.
There was a Shandong Han in Hu Jianhai's class. He was a famous naughty egg in Lianli, and no class wanted him. When Hu Jianhai saw that he could endure hardships in peacetime, had great strength, and was brave in fighting and was not afraid of death, he said to the company commander: "He is a good comrade, that is, he is nagging in his mouth. During the battle, he saw Hu Jianhai sacrificed, and he was very sad and cried several times.
After the battle, he pulled Hu Jianhai from the trench on the mountain to the edge of the ditch under the mountain in one breath, and put it with his sacrificed comrades. At night, when transporting the martyr to the rear, he found Hu Jianhai again and touched him affectionately. Suddenly, he felt Hu Jianhai's heart still beating, and touched it again. In this way, Hu Jianhai was rescued.
Because the shrapnel on his head could not be removed in North Korea, he was sent back to China, where he was healed in a hospital at home, and was later rated as a second-class disabled soldier who could be raised by the state. However, after the injury was healed, he did not want to lie on the merit book to eat the old book, and repeatedly asked to go to the Chengdu Auto Parts Factory and become a worker.
In the 1980s, Marshal Xu Qianqian went to Chengdu once, accompanied by Wei Jie, the former commander of the 60th Army (commander of the Military Region), to inspect the Chengdu Auto Parts Factory.
