However, Niu Ziming had ambushed a main force in the traffic ditch north of the road.
Just as the Japanese were attacking Liang fork, the 5th Company, 6th Company, and Battalion Heavy Machine Guns of the 2nd Battalion ambushed in the communication ditch immediately opened fire, disrupting the Formation of the Japanese Army. Taking advantage of the enemy's confusion, the 4th Company jumped out of the communication ditch to attack, annihilating more than 10 Japanese troops, and the rest of the Japanese army fled back to the cemetery.
However, the Japanese army was not willing to lose, and after a slight adjustment, it turned to the position of the 5th Company and launched an attack under the cover of fierce fire. Niu Ziming led 5 companies to rely on the communication ditch to kill and wound the enemy with grenades. The Japanese army attacked several times, but they all dropped a pile of corpses and retreated.
In the fierce battle, suddenly a heavy machine gun of the Eighth Route Army stopped sounding. The moment the Japanese took advantage of the interruption of the Eighth Route Army's firepower, several devils rushed towards the machine gun positions of the Eighth Route Army. The soldiers of the 5th Company immediately followed him out of the communication ditch and engaged in hand-to-hand combat with the Japanese.
After 4 hours of fierce fighting, the 2nd Battalion killed and wounded more than 100 Japanese troops, and the enemy could not support it, so they fled.
