The allusion behind the "Huizhou Ruyi Chicken"

According to legend, the fourth stone arch of the Tangyue Arch Group is engraved with the four characters of "Le Charity and Good Charity", and this stone arch is the father and son of Bao Shufang, a great salt merchant in Huizhou. When Bao Shufang first went out to do business, his mother specially made a kind of roast chicken for him, which was packed in a road vegetable tube made of moso bamboo, named "road vegetable chicken", for his son long-distance traders to eat small tubes of chicken from Huizhou. Eating yangzhou, it is still delicious and delicious, and the aroma is striking. Later, Bao Shufang made a fortune in Yangzhou and became a rich Jia in Jiangnan. In 1751, when the Qianlong Emperor toured the south, Bao Shufang became one of the drivers of Yangzhou, and he undertook to pay the entire cost of the Qianlong Emperor's trip to Yangzhou. One day, he invited Qianlong to the palace, knowing that this merry son of heaven loved to eat local specialties. Bao Shufang personally cooked "Road Vegetable Chicken" and "Huizhou Cake" and other banquets. Qianlong tasted, the dragon heart was very happy, full of praise, and even said: "Shuo has never eaten such a roast chicken of color, aroma and taste, I wish Aiqing a wealth and a way, all the best, just name it 'Ruyi Chicken'! Bao Shufang took the order and quickly prostrated his head to thank the emperor for the name. When tasting the "Ruyi Chicken" was enjoyable, the Qianlong Emperor proposed that Bao Shufang donate money to build the eight-hundred-mile river embankment, distribute military salaries from three provinces, and allow the Bao family to build a "righteous" archway. At that time, the Bao family of TangYu had already built three arches of "loyalty", "filial piety" and "festival", and there was a lack of a "righteous" archway. The Bao father and son thought about it a little and agreed to the emperor's request. A meal of "Ruyi Chicken" makes both monarchs and subjects get their own "Ruyi" effect. Qianlong not only allowed him to build the Stone Arch, but also promoted Bao Shufang to the rank of "YanwaiShi division" and "plus ten ranks", and his son Bao was "Yuanwailang". Since then, when the Bao family reunites in the Mid-Autumn Festival every year, they will make the exclusive dish of "Ruyi Chicken", first, not forgetting the grace of the mother, and the second is not forgetting the emperor's grace.

What does "Ruyi Chicken" taste like?

Folk proverb "Ruyi chicken, fresh and fragrant, do not put a slap". The origin of this folk proverb is that during the Qing Jiaqing period, during the Mid-Autumn Festival of a certain year, the imperial seal appointed Bao Jun, the "member of the foreign lang", to reward the servants with "Ruyi chicken". At this moment, a beggar knocked on the door, and the servant was afraid of affecting the master's holiday, and opened the door to drive him away. When the beggar saw him eating chicken, the aroma was fragrant, and the beggar, who was already hungry, was even more salivating, so he had a plan, and under the pretext of the servant cursing, he went forward and opened his bow left and right, and slapped him twice. Although his mouth was bleeding, the servant was reluctant to spit out chicken nuggets, but endured the pain of eating it, and then reasoned with the beggar, so the proverb was issued.
