[Global Times Special Correspondent Zhang Tianxing] The Purple Mountain Summit of Entrepreneurs on Both Sides of the Strait appeared online in Nanjing and Taipei on the 7th. Because the mainland recently released a list of stubborn "Taiwan independence" elements, stressing that enterprises that make money on the mainland while supporting "Taiwan independence" are not welcome, the summit has attracted much attention.

Cross-Strait Entrepreneurs Summit was held in Nanjing and Taipei, and taiwanese bigwigs gathered

The cross-strait entrepreneurs' summit was held by the two sides of the strait in turn, and this year was originally scheduled to be held by Nanjing, but due to the epidemic, it was still held in the same way as last year, and the main venues were set up in Nanjing and Taipei, but they were not open to the public for live broadcasting. This year's theme is "Grasp the New Pattern and Share New Opportunities", and at the beginning of the summit, Zhang Ping, vice chairman of the mainland side, read a congratulatory letter from Wang Yang, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Wang Yang said in the letter that despite the adverse impact of the epidemic, the volume of cross-strait trade has still grown rapidly in recent years, the enthusiasm of Taiwan enterprises to invest in the mainland has not diminished, and the mainland has always been the reliance of the vast number of Taiwan businessmen and Taiwan enterprises for investment and development progress.

Guo Jinlong, chairman of the mainland side, put forward four ideas for Taiwan enterprises and cross-strait economic and trade cooperation, including "grasping the general trend and actively integrating into the new development pattern", "seizing the opportunity of supply-side structural reform and winning advantages in the development of the domestic demand market", "seizing the opportunity of digital economic development, winning the opportunity in reshaping the economic structure" and "seizing the opportunity to implement a higher level of opening up, promoting the effective integration of the industrial chain supply chain on both sides of the strait, building a cross-strait common market, and strengthening the economy".

Taiwan's Economic Daily said on the 7th that the cross-strait entrepreneurs' summit coincided with the change of the chairman and vice chairman of the Taiwan side, and the new chairman was liu Zhaoxuan, the former "chief executive", and the vice chairman was Hon Hai founder Gou Taiming, and their speeches and trends were concerned. In his speech, Liu Zhaoxuan proposed five aspects, including "protecting the environment and ecology and safeguarding the health of the people". He said: In the course of its economic development, Taiwan is also facing the same environmental protection and health and medical problems, and has accumulated considerable experience; the two sides of the strait can put forward concrete and feasible cooperation plans for these two important areas as soon as possible. Gou said that enterprises on both sides of the strait can work together with the wisdom and scientific and technological strength of the people on both sides of the strait to "face the new crisis of global warming and climate change, and have the confidence to turn the crisis into a turning point."

The United News Network said on the 7th that this is a major exchange activity held by the two sides of the strait after the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Mainland listed a list of stubborn "Taiwan independence" elements and said that Taiwan enterprises are not allowed to "eat and smash the pot." It is also the annual meeting of the Entrepreneurs Summit, the highest-level industrial cooperation platform between the two sides of the strait. The Taiwan side can be described as a gathering of bigwigs, including former "Vice President" Xiao Wanchang, former "Minister of Economy" Yin Qiming, Acting Chairman of the SEF Xu Shengxiong, President of ETS Group Wang Linglin and a number of business representatives. When asked about the heavy fines imposed on the mainland by Taiwan's Far East Group, Liu Zhaoxuan said that the layout of Taiwan businessmen should respond to the trend of economic transformation on the mainland. Lin Bofeng, chairman of the Association for the Advancement of Industry and Commerce and chairman of the Taiwan Glass Association, called on the only solution to the cross-strait status quo to "make peace with China and not enmity between China."

However, the DPP authorities are still engaged in obstructing cross-strait exchanges. After the Entrepreneur Summit, the annual Straits Forum will be held in Fujian from the 10th to the 12th. On 2 December, Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council spokesman Qiu Chui-cheng said that the forum was a "large-scale united front platform sponsored by the Chinese Communists" for Taiwan, which has been used over the years to "co-opt" and "divide" Taiwan and publicize the achievements of the united front against Taiwan in order to achieve its political goal of reunifying Taiwan. Therefore, the authorities demand five points, including prohibiting the holding of activities related to the Straits Forum in Taiwan, whether physical or videotaped; prohibiting personnel of the authorities' ministries and committees and subordinate units from attending relevant activities, not being happy to see local government personnel participate in relevant activities, and advising the Taiwan people and non-governmental organizations not to participate easily; prohibiting organs, individuals, groups, and political parties from participating in activities involving the "one country, two systems, Taiwan plan" in any form; and the people engaged in cross-strait exchanges should abide by the "cross-strait regulations" and relevant legal norms, and must not sign agreements with the mainland side. Memorandums, etc.

On 7 July, Ma Xiaoguang, spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Mainland State Council, responded that it was not the first time that the Macedage had openly threatened and intimidated various circles in Taiwan to participate in the Straits Forum; and that it was not a new thing for the DPP authorities to interfere with and sabotage cross-strait exchanges for political purposes, but "facts have proved that intimidation and suppression are all futile." He said: Since its inception in 2009, the Straits Forum has been welcomed by the people on both sides of the strait, especially Taiwan compatriots, and has accumulated more than 100,000 Taiwan compatriots participating. I would like to advise the DPP authorities to put an end to their "green terror" in the face of the trend of the times in which all circles on both sides of the strait are strengthening exchanges and cooperation.
