She studied logistics optics in college and originally planned to go to the United States to continue her studies after the victory of the War of Resistance, but an "unexpected" event changed the trajectory of her life.
Although Wang Guangmei's father served in the Beiyang government in his early years, he later chose to quit because he did not want to join the same stream, which shows that his father is very dignified.
In addition, many relatives in the family participated in the revolution, and as Wang Guangmei later said, the deep ties between her family and the Communist Party were also determined by the enlightened attitude of her parents.
In February 1946, she accepted a job as an interpreter for our party delegation, and it was this incident that changed her life. During this work, she became acquainted with leaders such as Zhou Enlai and Ye Jianying, and also gained a more vivid understanding of the Communist Party. Later, due to the breakdown of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communists, a civil war broke out, and in October of the same year, for safety, she flew to Yan'an with the staff.
During this time in Yan'an, Wang Guangmei not only improved her ideological realm, but also met her husband Liu Shaoqi. Wang Guangmei once recalled that children asked how they came together with their father, who was such a serious person, so children would be curious about the process of their acquaintance.
In fact, the process is very simple, that is, in Yan'an through contact to feel good, before Wang Guangmei, Liu Shaoqi had several marriages, but also with children, he directly explained his situation to Wang Guangmei, Wang Guangmei felt that this person is very interesting, the average person is talking about his own advantages, only he came up and said his shortcomings first. Perhaps it is this honesty that makes Wang Guangmei feel that this is a person who can be relied on.
Liu Shaoqi's work is very busy, and on the day of their marriage, he only let the guards take Wang Guangmei to his residence. Still Premier Zhou heard that Comrade Shaoqi was getting married, and pulled Chairman Mao over to congratulate him.
On that day, everyone talked and laughed very lively, and colleagues in the foreign affairs group were busy for half a day and steamed a cake as a gift for the newcomers. The cake tasted very good, and Chairman Mao also specially asked for a piece to take home, saying that he wanted to give it to his daughter Li Ne to taste.
Speaking of Li Ne, she actually has a good relationship with Wang Guangmei's family. After Chairman Mao's death, she had a very difficult life with her son alone, because her situation was relatively special, so almost no one reached out to her, only Wang Guangmei, who often came to visit their mother and son, helped Li Ne a lot.
Li Ne has no younger brother, and she has always regarded Wang Guangmei's younger son Liu Yuan as her own brother. Usually, Liu Yuanduo works in other places, and When Li Ne and his sister Li Min have free time, they will visit Wang Guangmei and talk with her.
In 2004, Wang Guangmei told her son Liu Yuan that she wanted to invite guests, so she brought Mao and Liu's two families together. After many years, the two families reunited, which is quite a bit of a human being. This historic moment was later recorded in her book by Li Min's daughter Kong Dongmei.
