And whether they have real guns in their hands or defeat the enemy with intelligence; whether they are charging on the front line or doing logistical work, everyone is an honorable person.
Among them was a female warrior, who was from a prominent background and had excellent knowledge, who still devoted herself to the revolution at a time of national turmoil, and no matter how many tribulations she had experienced on the road of revolution and the construction of the motherland, she still maintained a pure heart and carried out the cause of benefiting the people to the last moment of her life.
She is Wang Guangmei.
Wang Guangmei was born in Beijing in 1921, his father Wang Zhichang was a senior official in the Beiyang government, and he was a student at Waseda University in Japan.
At that time, it was a very fortunate thing to be born in such a family. Wang Guangmei had excellent educational resources from an early age, and her rare talent made her mathematical achievements stand out and became one of the top of the "Three Kings of Mathematics" at that time. Later, in 1943, she graduated from the Physics Department of Peking Fu Jen University, and in 1945, she received a master's degree in science from Peking Fu Jen University, which was the first female graduate student majoring in atomic physics in China. After graduating from graduate school, she worked as a teaching assistant in the Department of Physics at Fu Jen University.
Wang Guangmei is extremely talented in physics, recognized by the physics community as a candidate for physics research, if she goes abroad to study according to her father's plan, perhaps she can become Yang Zhenning or Li Zhengdao's sister, or even become China's "Marie Curie".
But in 1946, a note from an underground Communist Party member upset her and her father's original arrangements. She was asked to work as an English translator for a Kuomintang-Communist negotiation to be held under the mediation of the United States, perhaps influenced by her mother's early experience as an underground party member and the successive admission of five brothers and sisters to the party, she agreed and postponed the registration of the two American universities that had been admitted at that time.
Although her english had previously been mostly used in natural sciences, such a conference required a lot of political vocabulary. But the translation was still very smooth and won her the admiration of Marshal Ye Jianying.
Since then, she has been working as an English translator for the CCP, and later rushed to Yan'an, going farther and farther on the road of her own revolution.
The other half of such a beautiful person will also be extraordinary, and the couple who married Wang Guangmei is one of the great founding fathers of our country, Liu Shaoqi.
After Wang Guangmei arrived in Yan'an, she became acquainted with Liu Shaoqi, and the work made the two more and more contact, and the feelings were slowly heating up. Wang Guangmei was attracted by Liu Shaoqi's feelings of home and country and dedication; Liu Shaoqi was also impressed by Wang Guangmei's talent and temperament.
The personal charm of both people is so strong that the 25-year-old age difference cannot resist the arrival of love. In 1948, Wang Guangmei joined the Communist Party of China and officially married Liu Shaoqi in Xibaipo, the following year served as Liu Shaoqi's secretary, after which he accompanied Liu Shaoqi on many trips to Asian countries, and Wang Guangmei made the world marvel at her charm with her rich knowledge and excellent temperament. The husband and wife have deep feelings and tacit understanding of work cooperation, and such a day has passed for 20 years.
The catastrophe of the Cultural Revolution swept through many people, and Liu Shaoqi was persecuted to death by extremists. On January 6, 1967, a sudden phone call informed Wang Guangmei that her daughter had been in a car accident and told her to rush to the hospital. But he was detained by rebels from Tsinghua University waiting in the hospital.
"Capturing Wang Guangmei" has become a matter of pride for the rebels, but for Wang Guangmei, it is the stigma of "American secret agent" and the disaster of twelve years of imprisonment. It was not until December 19798 that he was rehabilitated and released.
Then everything slowly got on track, she became the director of the Foreign Affairs Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Liu Shaoqi was rehabilitated in 1980; in 1995, she launched the "Happiness Project" dedicated to helping poor mothers, and she traveled everywhere, accumulating hundreds of thousands of people. Whenever she recalls the dark times of the past again, this old man has never been overwhelmed with anger and resentment, and she is still the elegant, calm, optimistic and strong person.
Wang Guangmei's life can be described as a big ups and downs, she has walked through the darkness and still has a bright heart, bringing beauty to more people in the rest of her life, facing her twelve years in prison, she only smiled, dedicated all her belongings to improving the people's lives and the construction of the country, and only left her priceless spirit to her children.
On October 3, 2006, Wang Guangmei died due to ineffective treatment for lung infection, people remember this elegant and powerful lady, and the appearance of Liu Shaoqi and Wang Guangmei's actors Liu Xiujie and Guo Fazeng at the funeral made the two sons cry and lose their voices when they saw faces that resembled those of their parents.
"Rolling yangtze river east of the passing water, the waves exhaust the heroes", the long history always has too many characters for us to comment on, but only to pass on the spirit of their bodies is the meaning of our nostalgia for great people.
