The Guangzhou uprising army achieved a stage victory.

In December 1927, in order to break through the white terror of the reactionaries, according to the instructions of the central authorities, Zhang Tailei, Ye Jianying, Nie Rongzhen, Xu Xiangqian and others planned to launch together

The Guangzhou Uprising. In the early morning of December 11, due to the sudden change of hostilities, the uprising began ahead of schedule. The rebel fighters ripped off the Kuomintang hat emblem on their hats, wore red cloth belts around their necks, braved the enemy's artillery fire, and soon occupied most of the city of Guangzhou. The Guangzhou Soviet Government was established under the auspices of Zhang Tailei. Zhang Dalei was elected chairman.

Guangzhou uprising, the rebel army in the brave battle.

However, the enemy was not willing to accept defeat and gathered a large number of troops to counterattack Guangzhou. On December 12, 1927, the crazy Chiang Kai-shek bandit army captured some of the main positions of our army. Zhang Tailei immediately organized everyone to move, but he himself drove forward to the north gate, ready to organize troops to resist the enemy there, unfortunately on the way, he was ambushed by a group of enemies disguised as workers' Red Guards, and died heroically at the age of 29.

Zhang Tailei was not only brave and tenacious in the struggle against the enemy, but also very strategic in the struggle and at a very high level. Qu Qiubai was a very good leader in the early days of our party, and Zhang Tailei was his introduction to the party. Zhang Tailei's sacrifice is a great loss for our party and has had a great impact on the future development of our party.

Although Zhang Tailei sacrificed, his spirit of "willing to turn into thunder and shatter the old world" has always inspired us to move forward.
