author:Read the night talk

Xiao Hong was called "China's most promising female writer" by Mr. Lu Xun. However, this talented woman only lived for 31 years before she died young. In just a few years of creative career, Xiao Hong wrote popular works such as "The Field of Life and Death" and "The Legend of Hulan River".

However, Xiao Hong's life was full of blood and tears and ups and downs. From birth to death, she has never felt the warmth of the family, so there is a desire for a warm family. The fortunate thing in Xiao Hong's life was to meet Mr. Lu Xun. Under the care and guidance of Mr. Lu Xun, Xiao Hong was able to occupy a place in the literary world.

Xiao Hong and Lu Xun, their sincere friendship of teachers and friends, is touching.

Half of her life was met with white eyes, Xiao Hong died young at the age of 31, and her last wish before death: buried next to Lu Xun's tomb

On June 1, 1911, Xiao Hong was born in a family of landlords surnamed Zhang in Hulan County, Heilongjiang. Xiao Hong's childhood was very unhappy, and her parents were harsh and indifferent to her. This cold and deformed family environment made young Xiao Hong suffer great harm in her heart.

His father gave Xiao Hongxu to the rich man Wang Enjia, and in order to resist marriage, the 19-year-old Xiao Hong ran away from home and fled to Beiping, where he began a wandering life. Because she had no food or clothing, Xiao Hong returned to her hometown a year later and was placed under house arrest by her father. But after 7 months, Xiao Hong took the opportunity to escape.

On the streets of Harbin, Xiao Hong and her fiancé Wang Enjia met unexpectedly. In order to make a living, Xiao Hong had to live with Wang Enjia. Soon, Xiao Hong became pregnant, but Wang Enjia abandoned her at this time and left. Because Wang Enjia owed money to the hotel, Xiao Hong was almost sold to a brothel by the hotel owner.

In desperation, Xiao Hong asked Pei Xinyuan, editor of the supplement of Harbin International Association Daily, for help. Pei Xinyuan sent a young writer, Xiao Jun, to Harbin to rescue Xiao Hong. The two fell in love at first sight, admired each other, and came together. Xiao Hong snuggled in Xiao Jun's arms, and a smile appeared on her face for the rest of her life.

Under the influence of Xiao Jun, Xiao Hong began to engage in literary creation. At this time, Xiao Hong came into contact with Mr. Lu Xun's works a lot and longed for this literary giant.

In October 1933, Xiao Hong cooperated with Xiao Jun to publish the novel collection "Trek", which caused strong repercussions in northeast China. However, because of the ideological content of the anti-Japanese resistance and anti-Qing, it aroused the suspicion of the secret service organs. In order to escape persecution, the two left Harbin and went to Qingdao to join their friend Shu Qun.

In Qingdao, the two lived a relatively stable life, and Xiao Hong completed the creation of the novella "The Field of Life and Death". But the works could not be published locally, and they thought of Lu Xun, who had always supported literary youth, so they wrote a letter for help. Receiving Mr. Lu Xun's reply, Xiao Hong jumped up happily, which greatly encouraged the two.

In November 1934, Shu Qun was arrested, and Xiao Hong and Xiao Jun had to leave Qingdao for Shanghai. After arriving in Shanghai, the two met Mr. Lu Xun at the Neishan Bookstore. The two briefed Lu Xun on the situation in the northeast and their own experiences, and Lu Xun also told them about the situation of struggle in Shanghai and the situation in the literary and art circles, and promised to help them publish their works.

The conversation was still going on, at this time Xu Guangping led his son Hai Bao to come, and Xiao Hong and Xu Guangping saw each other as before. The mischievous sea baby quickly became acquainted with Xiao Hong. After Lu Xun learned of their predicament, he gave them 20 yuan before leaving. Xu Guangping said to Xiao Hong: "It is really not easy to meet once, and I don't know when to see you next time." ”

This meeting with Lu Xun impressed him deeply. Xiao Hong did not expect that "he was so sick and thin that he was not formed", and she wrote to Lu Xun, expressing her anger at his wanted and persecution by the enemy. Lu Xun wrote back: "I know that after we meet, it will make you feel sad, but this is the law of nature, there is nothing to do." ”

Lu Xun told Xiao Hong all about his inner troubles, and Xiao Hong also told him bluntly: "On the day I came to Shanghai, I didn't have any gains in creation, I didn't know what to write, who to write it for, and where to publish it." ”

Lu Xun comforted her, and in order to help them get rid of the loneliness of their interactions, he also introduced them to friends in the Shanghai literary circle and led them to the path of professional writers.

Half of her life was met with white eyes, Xiao Hong died young at the age of 31, and her last wish before death: buried next to Lu Xun's tomb

Mr. Lu Xun was a talented man who admired Xiao Hong's literary talent and once called Xiao Hong "the most promising female writer in China." Lu Xun helped them publish "The Field of Life and Death" and "The Countryside in August", and also personally wrote the preface to Xiao Hong's "Field of Life and Death".

"The Field of Life and Death" vividly reflects the poverty-stricken and unsuspecting life of the peasants in northeast China during the pseudo-Manchu period and their determination to resist the war to the end. For the pain of the war and chaos suffered after the "918" incident, Xiao Hong was even more painful. Lu Xun even wrote in the preface:

"See Harbin five years ago, and even earlier. The people of the north are often strong in life and death. ”

In December 1935, with the help of Mr. Lu Xun, Xiao Hong's "The Field of Life and Death" was published, causing a huge sensation and enthusiastic response, and received rave reviews. The work evokes the awakening of national consciousness and inspires the people's fighting spirit against the Japanese invaders.

Mr. Lu Xun happily introduced this work to his friends, and Xiao Hong became famous in one fell swoop, becoming a unique female writer in the Chinese literary circle at that time. This year, Xiao Hong was only 24 years old.

After that, Lu Xun also introduced Xiao Hong to the famous American journalist Smiret and the Japanese sinologist Lu Diji, and paid attention to them to "pay attention to the work of this young woman." Xiao Hong's works have thus been introduced abroad.

Mr. Lu Xun is over fifty years old and is not in good health. In Xiao Hong's eyes, Mr. Lu Xun is a warm old man like his grandfather; in Mr. Lu Xun's eyes, Xiao Hong, who is young, lively and straightforward, is like a child.

In order to facilitate contact, Xiao Hong moved her family to the French Concession, which was relatively close to Lu Xun's home. Lu Xun's whole family came to visit their residence twice, which made Xiao Hong very unhappy, she said: "Mr. He Lao is condescending, or I will go to visit you." ”

As a result, Xiao Hong went to Lu Xun's house almost every day, sometimes even two or three times a day, and became a regular visitor to Lu Xun's house. She often talked freely with Mr. Lu Xun until late at night. Lu Xun personally delivered it to the door and instructed his wife Xu Guangping to hire a car to take her home.

Once, Lu Xun was proofreading works in his bedroom, and when he saw Xiao Hong coming, he said, "I haven't seen him for a long time. Xiao Hong wondered, didn't you just come in the morning, how could you not see him for a long time? Then he said, "I'm here too, but have I forgotten everything?" Mr. Lu Xun was dumbfounded, it turned out that he was joking.

For Xiao Hong, who lacks fatherly love, Mr. Lu Xun is not only her spiritual mentor on the road of literary creation, but also gives her the love of a loving father in life. In Lu Xun's home, this bitter woman felt unprecedented family warmth.

Xiao Hong was in Lu Xun's house, and she also made leek boxes, lotus leaf cakes, dumplings, etc. several times, and every time she proposed to do these, Lu Xun would inevitably agree. Although it was not delicious enough, Lu Xun always held up chopsticks and asked Xu Guangping: "Can I eat a few more?" In order to resolve Xiao Hong's embarrassment.

Hai Bao was the most mischievous, and he thought that when he saw Xiao Hong, he had to pull her into the courtyard to play, dragging her hair and clothes. Lu Xun said: "He sees you combing two braids, similar to him, others are adults in his eyes, just look at you small." Xu Guangping asked Hai Baby, "Why do you like her?" "She has little braids." Saying that he was pulling Xiao Hong again, Mr. Lu Xun laughed loudly.

Xiao Hong later recalled: "Mr. Lu Xun's laughter is clear and joyful from the heart. If someone said something ridiculous, he laughed so hard that he couldn't even hold the cigarette, and often he laughed and coughed. ”

Every time Xiao Hong left Lu Xun's house, Lu Xun always asked Xu Guangping to send her downstairs, and then took out a handful of change to give her a ride. In addition to the concern in life, there is also the teaching of Xiao Hong in life and writing. Lu Xun's earnest concern for Xiao Hong, Xu Guangping saw it most clearly, she said:

In order to alleviate some sorrow among the travelers, naturally Mr. Lu Xun should do his best to prevent the promising people from becoming decadent and helpless. Therefore, in addition to pulling out a lot of time and Xiao Hong's correspondence, he also tried to introduce them to publication, in short, he tried every means to warm these newcomers. ”

This period of interaction with Mr. Lu Xun gave Xiao Hong a rare happy and happy time. Even in the bleak time of her life, it was the greatest comfort for the rest of her life.

In 1936, Xiao Hong formed a deep relationship with Mr. Lu Xun's family, but her relationship with Xiao Jun was rifted. On July 15, Xiao Hongdong traveled to Japan to study. Xu Guangping personally cooked and cooked, and set up a banquet for Xiao Hong. Although Lu Xun and his wife bitterly advised her to reunite with Xiao Jun, Xiao Hong had already made up her mind.

Lu Xun instructed Xiao Hong with pity: "Every time you go to the dock, there will be a medical examination, don't be afraid, Chinese will scare Chinese." This time, I didn't expect to become xiao Hong and Mr. Lu Xun's eternal tips.

On October 19, 1936, Mr. Lu Xun died of illness in Shanghai. The bad news reached Tokyo, and Xiao Hong was devastated. In a letter to Xiao Jun, she said:

"Last night, I couldn't help but cry. I saw a picture of him clearly in a Chinese newspaper, and it was such a painful moment. It's a pity that my cries can't be mixed with your cries. Although when I said goodbye to him three months ago, he was sitting in a wicker chair..."

In addition to writing letters to Xiao Jun and Xu Guangping, Xiao Hong also published a series of articles mourning Mr. Lu Xun, pinning her deep remembrance of her mentor.

In January 1937, Xiao Hong returned to China. After returning to Shanghai, she went to see Xu Guangping and Haiying for the first time, and when she saw the pot of evergreen next to Lu Xun's portrait, she couldn't help but think of the scene of the first time she went to Lu Xun's house.

At that time, when Xiao Hong saw a pot of evergreen on the long table in the living room, she from the north couldn't help but be surprised, and every time she went to see it in the future, she would see it full of life. Lu Xun told her, "This is called Evergreen, and it will always be like this." Now that the gentleman is gone, the flower pot has changed, but Evergreen is still "not withering and verdant."

Xiao Hong took the hand of the sea baby, and the tears flowed. She went to the Cemetery of All Nations to pay homage to Mr. Lu Xun, offered flowers, remembered the scene where Mr. Lu regarded himself as a relative, and cried bitterly. With great sorrow, she wrote a tearful poem "Worship the Tomb - For Mr. Lu Xun".

Since then, Xiao Hong has spent a lot of time responsible for the cutting and proofreading of the newspaper part of the "Lu Xun Memorial Collection" to pin her condolences on Mr. Lu Xun. At the same time, he also wrote many articles asking and remembering Mr. Lu Xun, and the words revealed their deep nostalgia, reverence and gratitude for Lu Xun.

In 1939, Xiao Hong, who was exiled in Chongqing, published "In Memory of Our Mentor" and "Mr. Lu Xun in Memory", and the feeling of missing her mentor was always haunting her. She uses a delicate and fresh tone to portray a particularly humane image of Mr. Lu Xun for the reader. Let the reader see the harmony of Lu Xun's family, the simplicity of life and the feelings between her and Lu Xun's family.

In Xiao Hong's pen, Lu Xun was not only a great thinker, but also a kind and generous old man. He is a good husband and father who respects his wife and loves his son, and is an elder who has worked hard to cultivate young writers, with deep affection and kindness.

The days of getting along with Lu Xun were the few days of Xiao Hong's bumpy and unfortunate life that shone with brilliant sunshine, and she had always had a deep reverence and gratitude for Mr. Lu Xun. The early death of Mr. Lu Xun was a heavy blow to her.

After breaking up with Xiao Jun, Xiao Hong and Duanmu Hongliang came together. In the spring of 1940, Xiao Hong and Duanmu Hongliang went to Hong Kong. Hong Kong has become the last stop of Xiao Hong's life journey.

During her time in Hong Kong, Xiao Hong suffered from tuberculosis, was weak, and often coughed. However, she still insisted on creating, and completed important works such as "The Legend of Hulan River", "Ma Bole" and "March in a Small Town".

In the spring of 1941, Xiao Hong was admitted to The Queen Mary Hospital. At the end of November of the same year, due to the cold reception received by the hospital, Xiao Hong returned to her home in Kowloon to recuperate. On 8 December, the Pacific War broke out and Kowloon fell under Japanese artillery fire. The next day, Duanmu Hongliang and young writer Luo Binji escorted Xiao Hong from Kowloon to Hong Kong for medical treatment.

Entrusted by Xiao Hong's younger brother and Duanmu Weiliang, Luo Binji, who is 6 years younger than Xiao Hong, came to the ward to take care of Xiao Hong and accompanied her through the last 44 days of her life.

On January 19, late at night, feeling that she had little time, she wrote on a piece of paper: "I will be with the blue sky and clear water forever, leaving the half of the "Red Chamber" for others to write!" Half a lifetime of white-eyed cold reception... Die first, unwilling, unwilling! ”

On January 22, Xiao Hong passed away with endless hatred at the age of 31.

In the last moments of Xiao Hong's life, she was particularly eager to return to her relatives, and she begged her friend Luo Binji to send her to Xu Guangping. According to Luo Binji's recollection, Xiao Hong repeatedly remembered Mr. Lu Xun, who brought her with tears in her eyes, hoping to "send her ashes back to Shanghai and bury them next to Lu Xun's tomb."

At that time, Shanghai had already fallen into the hands of the Japanese army, and the soldiers were in chaos, and Xiao Hong's last wish to return to Shanghai was not realized. Her body was cremated and hastily buried in Repulse Bay, Hong Kong. Her life was turbulent and bitter, and she would continue to drift away when she died.
