In 1909, Han Liancheng was born in a poor family in Guyuan County, Gansu Province (now part of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region), when he was a teenager, Han Liancheng suffered a lot, in 1925, Feng Yuxiang recruited soldiers in the Ningxia area, founded a military school, Han Liancheng let his mother borrow a middle school diploma, and was admitted to the Ma Hongkui Officers' Teaching Team.
Since then, he has begun his military career.
During the Northern Expedition in 1926, Feng Yuxiang put the troops under the leadership of the Nationalist government, and it was during the period of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party that Feng Yuxiang also invited some Communists to work in the troops, and Liu Zhidan came to Han Liancheng's Fourth Route Army as the chief of the political department.
At this time, Han Liancheng came into contact with Marxism through Liu Zhidan, and had the idea of joining the Communist Party of China, Liu Zhidan designated him as his contact person with the party, but later due to changes in the situation, Chiang Kai-shek launched a counter-revolution, and Feng Yuxiang also began to expel communists from the army.
In 1930, Han Liancheng had been promoted to regimental commander.
During the Great War in the Central Plains, one of Feng Yuxiang's troops attacked Chiang Kai-shek's headquarters, and at the crucial moment, Han Liancheng led his troops to rescue him, which made Chiang Kai-shek very happy; he thought that Han Liancheng had graduated from the Whampoa Military Academy, so he asked him, and when he learned that Han Liancheng was not a Huangpu student, he wrote down a warrant: Han Guizhang, commander of the Independent Regiment of the Sixty-fourth Division (Han Liancheng's former name), saw the danger and was ordered, loyal and courageous, and a third-term graduate of the Chartered Military Academy, included in the student register, and the internal general order was known.

In 1935, when Han Liancheng was studying at the Army University, he became acquainted with Shihualong, an aide-de-camp of Bai Chongxi of the Gui clan, who appreciated Han Liancheng's military talents and invited Han Liancheng to serve in the Gui clan many times.
At this time, Chiang Kai-shek was worried that he could not break into the Gui clan, so he arranged for Han Liancheng to go to the Gui clan, and after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Han Liancheng was valued by Bai Chongxi because of his erudite knowledge, and after that, he successively served as the commander of the Kuomintang 170th Division and the chief of staff of the 16th Group Army.
In 1942, Han Liancheng reorganized his life, he always felt that he had made the wrong way to serve the country, he believed that the Communist Party was the team that really wanted to resist Japan, and in June, after careful consideration, Han Liancheng met Zhou Enlai through the arrangement of Yu Ling, the son-in-law of the non-partisan Zhou Shiguan.
Han Liancheng began by saying that he wanted to join the Communist Party, and Zhou Enlai was a little surprised, because at this time in the Kuomintang, Han Liancheng's status was not low, it was the rank of lieutenant general, and for other considerations, Zhou Enlai said that during the period of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, the Communist Party did not develop party members in the upper echelons of the Kuomintang, and politely rejected Han Liancheng.
However, just as he was leaving, when Zhou Enlai learned that Han Liancheng had served in Feng Yuxiang's army, he asked him if he knew a person named Han Guizhang.
At this time, Zhou Enlai told him that it turned out that Liu Zhidan had told him about Han Guizhang, and Zhou Enlai was very excited about this, and he immediately told Han Liancheng that he wanted him to return to the team, and Han Liancheng had a single line contact with Zhou Enlai from then on and became a red agent.
After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1945, Han Liancheng served as the commander of the Kuomintang 46th Army, he came to Hainan Island, Chiang Kai-shek gave a task to eliminate our party's Qiongya column, for many reasons, the Qiongya column failed to effectively contact the party organization, and finally caused the Qiongya column to fight with Han Liancheng's troops, for this reason, Han Liancheng was also wounded, and this matter was later explained by Zhou Enlai, Han Liancheng learned the reason.
In October 1946, Han Liancheng received an order from Chiang Kai-shek to lead the 46th Army to Shandong to participate in the civil war, and in early 1947, Dong Biwu informed Chen Yi and Su Yu of Han Liancheng's identity to the East China Field Army.
As a result, Han Liancheng contacted the people sent by Chen Yi and delivered some important information.
During the Battle of Laiwu, Han Liancheng gave up command with his command and took a guard platoon to the headquarters of the East China Field Army, at that time, Han Liancheng told Chen Yi that he still had to return to Nanjing.
Chen Yi was a little worried: "Chiang Kai-shek has a lot of doubts, this time in the Battle of Laiwu, more than 60,000 of his 3 armies were completely destroyed, more than 10 generals were captured, and only you fled back. ”
Han Liancheng smiled confidently: "If I had changed someone else, maybe Chiang Kai-shek would have doubts, but I once saved his life in danger, and even if I was his savior, he would not be suspicious of me." ”
Facts have proved that it is true that, as Han Liancheng said, when he returned to Nanjing, Old Chiang not only did not blame him, but instead appointed him as a senior staff officer in the chairman's attendant office.
At the Battle of Menglianggu, the 74th Division, the head of the five main forces of the Kuomintang, was completely destroyed, and at a combat conference, Bai Chongxi contacted Han and sang a harmony, saying that Chen Cheng's command was incompetent, and Chen Cheng had to resign from his post as "chief of staff."
Because of this incident, Chen Cheng was also hostile to Han Liancheng.
In early 1948, Chen Cheng sent his confidant, Guo Jiyao, then chairman of Gansu Province, to petition the national representatives of Gansu to send Han Liancheng back to Gansu as a security commander.
Chiang Kai-shek agreed.
Soon, when Han Liancheng was preparing to go to Lanzhou, his good friend Guan Linzheng, who was then the principal of the Central Military Academy, came and told Han Liancheng that Du Yuming's troops had captured a cadre of Hua Ye, saying that he was a political commissar, and he confessed that Han Liancheng had secretly interacted with Chen Yi during the Battle of Laiwu.
Han Liancheng said calmly, "What is the attitude of the old man after listening to Du Yuming's report?" ”

Knowing such a situation, Han Liancheng had great certainty in his heart.
The next day, he approached Chiang Kai-shek: "Principal, since Commander Du falsely accused me of being a Communist, I request that I be locked up first, and then have a trial and interrogation. ”

Subsequently, Han Liancheng went to Lanzhou to take up his post, originally asking him to serve as a security commander, but when he arrived, he became a brigade commander.
Soon, an unfavorable situation arose, a regimental commander of the 46th Army escaped in the Battle of Laiwu, and the military command set his sights on Han Liancheng.
He Yingqin was serving as the Kuomintang minister of national defense at this time, and he had always been at odds with the Gui clan, and Du Yuming had conclusive evidence at this time and reported the matter to He Yingqin.
He Yingqin knew that Chiang Kai-shek trusted Han Liancheng very much, so he decided to send Zhang Zhizhong to escort Han Liancheng back to Nanjing.
Zhang Zhizhong knew this very well, and he gave Han Liancheng an unsealed letter asking him to return to Nanjing to present Chiang Kai-shek, and when he got on the plane, Han Liancheng opened it and saw that it was a newspaper of the day, at which point he understood that Zhang Zhizhong was reminding He Yingqin to prepare to arrest himself.
Han Liancheng immediately called Yu Jishi, director of the Third Bureau of the Presidential Office, asking him to come to the airport to pick him up, and when he arrived in Nanjing, Han Liancheng was directly picked up by Yu Jishi' dispatchers.
Later, through the arrangements of friends and party organizations, he went all the way north to Xibaipo, Hebei Province, in mid-November.
