Han Liancheng lurked in the Kuomintang for many years, and Zhang Zhizhong gave him an old newspaper and realized that the crisis was safely evacuated

People often say, "Life is like a play, and a play is like life." "However, some people's lives are far more legendary than those of drama. During the Republic of China period, a general named Han Liancheng wrote his life as a legendary drama.

With superhuman courage, excellent wisdom and awe-inspiring righteousness, General Han Liancheng went deep into the Dragon Pond Tiger's Den and lurked within the Kuomintang.

However, lurking around the enemy, there must be danger and killing opportunities hidden everywhere, and the general could not avoid the danger of being detected. However, legends such as Han Liancheng, he evaded the enemy's capture. So how did he sniff out the crisis and get out of it with tact?

The answer turned out to be an old newspaper...

▲ Han Liancheng became a general

In 1909, in a poor peasant family in Guyuan County, Ningxia, a little boy was born. "The children of poor families have long been in charge." 12-year-old Han Liancheng works part-time while attending a private school.

Growing up, Han Liancheng had a keen interest in learning martial arts, and he had secretly studied martial arts with his teachers. Soon, a fate-changing event happened. At the age of 15, the admissions teacher of the "Whampoa Military Academy" came to the small place of Guyuan and sowed the seeds of hope to Han Liancheng.

Han Liancheng decided that this was a good opportunity, and he thought to himself, no matter what, he must enter this school. So, Han Liancheng, who played small and witty, borrowed a diploma from a middle school graduate, Han Guizhang, and applied for the military academy (it was not until 1934 that he changed back to his original name through Chiang Kai-shek).

In 1925, he was admitted to the officer training team of the 7th Division of the Northwest Army.

In September 1926, Han's unit was reorganized into the Fourth Army of the Nationalist Coalition. The commander of the army at that time was the infamous Ma Hongkui, but the head of the army's political department was Comrade Liu Zhidan of the Communist Party.

However, the relationship between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party was like a flash in the pan, and in 1927, Chiang Kai-shek launched the April 12 coup d'état, which also represented the dissolution of the first Kuomintang-Communist cooperation. On the way into Henan to continue the Northern Expedition, Liu Zhidan met Han Liancheng and told him to stick to his revolutionary position.

After Chiang Kai-shek issued the "Qing Party" order, Liu Zhidan had to withdraw first because of his status as a Communist Party. Before the evacuation, he warned Han Liancheng:

"Communism is not finished, nor will it be finished, and we must always stick to the revolutionary position, be revolutionary people, and do revolutionary things."

Han Liancheng was also identified as a communist lurker, and during that time, Han Liancheng lived in deep trouble. Later, due to the guarantee of the commander-in-chief Feng Yuxiang, he escaped the disaster and was promoted to deputy regimental commander of a certain department.

After that, he performed well in the army and made many achievements. During a battle, Feng Yuxiang's headquarters was surrounded by the enemy, and Han Liancheng led his troops to fight to rescue him in time, and from then on Feng Yuxiang considered him a comrade-in-arms of "suffering and common", so he was promoted to regimental commander.

Han Liancheng's further promotion came from the fact that he saved Chiang Kai-shek's life. This incident also made him walk into Chiang Kai-shek's eyes.

It was May 1930, the Central Plains War was on the verge of breaking out, and the anti-Chiang Feng Yuxiang cavalry attacked Chiang Kai-shek's train at night, and Chiang Kai-shek was trapped in the train of Guide (present-day Shangqiu), and the situation was once very dangerous.

Afterwards, Han Liancheng became Chiang Kai-shek's "savior", so he was also received by Chiang Kai-shek, who specially approved him to be included in the third phase of the Whampoa Military Academy.

The Whampoa Military Academy was of great importance to the Kuomintang, and many of the senior generals in the Kuomintang were from the Whampoa Military Academy. It is conceivable that Chiang Kai-shek had a heavy instrument for Han.

However, Because Han Liancheng's merit was too great, his merits were high, and he angered Sima Hongkui, his head.

In the autumn of 1932, Chiang Kai-shek said to Ma Hongkui while in Hankou:

"This Han Guizhang is good, he can be promoted to brigade commander, it is a pity to be a staff officer."

Although Chiang Kai-shek looked at Han Liancheng, Ma Hongkui thought that he could not be dissatisfied with his own use, so he secretly shaded Han Liancheng's hand.

Soon after, Ma Hongkui sent him to Nanjing in the name of studying. In fact, on the third day of arriving at the school, he was taken away for examination on suspicion of having a Communist Party status.

This level is 3 months, but the reclusive Han Liancheng has never denied anything related to the Communist Party.

It was not until before the Spring Festival in 1933 that Chiang Kai-shek came to nanjing to inspect the school and was surprised to see Han Liancheng imprisoned.

Then he was furious, released Han Liancheng, and arranged him under Chen Guofu, the chairman of Jiangsu Province, and used his real name according to Han Liancheng's wishes.

As a result, Han Liancheng officially entered Chiang Kai-shek's Huangpu department, which also provided great convenience for his promotion. In Jiangsu, he successively served as the brigade commander of the Independent Brigade and the commander of the Zhenjiang Garrison. In 1935 he was promoted to major general.

Although Han Liancheng had a green light in the Kuomintang, in fact, he was "in Cao Ying's heart in Han". On the contrary, he was very supportive of the Communist Party, believing that it was ideological and doctrine-oriented.

After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1937, At the National Defense Conference in which the Kuomintang and the Communists jointly participated, Han Liancheng was designated as a liaison officer between the two armies, and it was at this meeting that Han Liancheng met Premier Zhou for the first time, and he called the premier a "teacher."

After this meeting, Han Liancheng was assigned to serve under Li Zongren and achieved good results in the battle against the Japanese army. In 1942, Han Wasen-sung was appointed chief of staff of the Sixteenth Army and awarded the rank of lieutenant general.

In June 1942, Han Liancheng secretly met with Premier Zhou, and as soon as Han Liancheng saw Premier Zhou, he bluntly said that he wanted to join the Communist Party and join the revolution. Premier Zhou said frankly:

"We are very welcome to you, but we hope that you will use your status and position to work for us on the side of the Kuomintang." Of course, you will also suffer some grievances because of this. ”

Han Liancheng heard that he could also do things for the party in the Kuomintang and said:

"I am not afraid of grievances, but the Kuomintang is so corrupt, I am afraid that I will give them a black pot."

Toward the end of the meeting, Premier Zhou remembered that Liu Zhidan had told him about cultivating activists who had joined the party in the Northwest Army, so he asked Han Liancheng if he knew a man named Han Guizhang when he was in the Northwest Army.

Han Liancheng was surprised to hear this, and then told the prime minister the reason for his name change. The prime minister was also very surprised, it turned out that he was Han Guizhang.

This meeting was a major turning point in Han Liancheng's life, which directly established his relationship with our party, and he began to carry out secret work under the direct leadership of Premier Zhou.

Because he once saved Chiang Kai-shek, Han Liancheng has always been highly valued by Chiang Kai-shek. Han Liancheng served as a senior staff officer in Chiang Kai-shek's attendant office, which provided him with great convenience for obtaining intelligence.

After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Chiang Kai-shek asked Han Liancheng to lead hainan as the commander of hainan defense, ostensibly to accept the surrender of the Japanese army, but in fact asked him to eliminate the anti-Japanese forces in Hainan.

At this moment, the situation of the Qiongya Column in Hainan was critical, and Premier Zhou personally wrote to Han Liancheng:

"Protect the safety of the Qiongya Party organization as much as possible, so that the guerrillas will suffer less losses." Notice that from the actual situation, you can do as much as you want, and it is up to you to decide..."

After Receiving the letter, Han Liancheng did not hesitate to plan the next action. However, at that time, the radio station of the Qiongya Column had long been lost, resulting in the inability to call the central authorities, so Qiongzhong could not trust Han Liancheng and had a misunderstanding of Han Liancheng.

Han Liancheng had to take unilateral measures to protect the Qiong Party, first disarming all the puppet troops attacking Qiongzhong, executing its commander, and dismissing more than 1,700 people.

Someone reported Han's strange behavior to Chiang Kai-shek. As a result, Han Liancheng was eventually punished by the notification because of his "ineffective suppression of bandits".

During the Liberation War, Han Liancheng sent out important information many times and made major contributions to our liberation cause.

In October 1946, Han Liancheng learned of Chiang Kai-shek's intention to launch a full-scale civil war, and also obtained a deployment plan for the two battlefields of northwest and Shandong.

In January 1947, Chiang Kai-shek ordered Han Liancheng's Forty-sixth Army to make peace with Li Xianzhou, using Linyi as the battlefield to annihilate Chen Yi's main force and occupy Xintai and Laiwu.

After this order was given, Han Liancheng began to find a way to pass on the information to Chen Yi. After the Kuomintang troops were surrounded at Laiwu City, Han Liancheng, who was tasked with breaking through, left on the pretext of leaving behind the Forty-sixth Army, which was unattended.

Soon, the Battle of Laiwu ended in the defeat of the Kuomintang, and Li Xianzhou and more than 20 other Kuomintang general-level officers were captured.

The defeat at the Battle of Laiwu made Chiang Kai-shek suspicious of Han Liancheng, but Chiang Kai-shek did not want to give up Han Liancheng easily, and Chiang Kai-shek did not let Han Liancheng regain military power, but appointed him to join the army as the presidential palace.

This time Han Liancheng returned to the wolf's lair, he was closer to Chiang Kai-shek, had more opportunities to contact important classified information, and could also participate in military conferences and study the war situation.

Soon the Battle of Luzhong began, and the opponent was still Chen Yi's troops, and Chiang Kai-shek asked for his opinion because Han Liancheng had fought chen Yi's troops.

Han Liancheng said:

"They're good at sports warfare, and we've suffered losses before. I think that the reorganized 74th Division (division commander Zhang Lingfu) is the main force that attracts them and encircles and suppresses them in a joint effort. ”

After listening to Han Liancheng's analysis, Chiang Kai-shek made up his mind to let Zhang Lingfu die at Meng Lianggu. In the end, Zhang Lingfu was all wiped out by our army.

The two major wars of Laiwu and Meng Lianggu completely destroyed Chiang Kai-shek's plan to occupy Shandong, and Han Liancheng also played a great role in this.

Although Han Liancheng was constantly able to obtain intelligence or assist our army in various ways, after all, he was in the enemy camp and was always at risk of being discovered.

In April 1948, Chiang Kai-shek sent Han Liancheng to Gansu to serve as a security commander and asked him to use his previous connections to consolidate his position and strengthen his troops.

However, Han Liancheng's "abnormal moves" and "mistakes" in several battles have attracted the attention of the Kuomintang side, and he is already secretly investigating him.

In October, Defense Minister He Yingqin had already mastered relevant intelligence on Han Liancheng and confirmed that Han Liancheng was the other party's person. Therefore, Zhang Zhizhong secretly sent a secret telegram to immediately escort Han Liancheng to Nanjing for disposal.

At this time, Han Liancheng's life was already hanging by a thread, but the blessings and misfortunes depended on each other, and the turning point of the matter appeared in Zhang Zhizhong.

Zhang Zhizhong gave Han Liancheng a plane ticket and a large envelope, and asked Han Liancheng to immediately fly to Nanjing to meet Chiang Kai-shek and hand over the envelope to Chiang Kai-shek.

The keen Han Liancheng had already smelled the danger, but he could not fight the grass and snake, and he very calmly boarded the plane to Nanjing. On the plane, Han Liancheng carefully opened the envelope and found that there was not a word on the envelope, only an old newspaper.

odd! Han Liancheng thought to himself: Zhang Zhizhong is a person I know very well, he is the most cautious when doing things, and he cannot make any mistakes in what he gives to Chiang Kai-shek, and he must have ulterior motives.

"Newspapers, newspapers..."

Han Liancheng silently read it several times, and suddenly realized that his heart was like a mirror.

He understood that it had been exposed, but his face did not change color, planning the next action.

The plane stopped in Xi'an, and taking advantage of this time, Han Liancheng hurriedly called Yu Jishi of the Nanjing Presidential Palace to let him pick him up.

As soon as the plane arrived in Nanjing, Yu Jishi picked him up, and He Yingqin could not find the opportunity to make a move.

Han Liancheng knew that his identity had been exposed, and Nanjing could no longer stay, so he had to quickly transfer and evacuate.

The relevant personnel immediately arranged for Han Liancheng to fly to Hong Kong and then transfer to the northeast to the Liberated Areas. At the same time, Han Liancheng's wife and children were also safely transferred.

In January 1949, Han Liancheng came to Xibaipo. Here he was received by Chairman Mao, General Manager Zhu, Premier Zhou, and other leaders, and Chairman Mao praised him: "He has made great contributions to the party and the revolution, and he has made extraordinary contributions."

When Han Liancheng proposed to join the party organization, Premier Zhou hurriedly said that he could be an introducer if needed. After joining the party organization, Han Liancheng was still not arrogant or impatient, and worked hard to do a good job in every task assigned by the organization, did not seek fame and fortune, and made great contributions to the cause of liberation.

When he was awarded the title in 1955, Premier Zhou once talked to him. According to his contributions, if treated as a Kuomintang rebel general, then he can be awarded the rank of general. However, according to the time of joining the party and the position at that time, he could only be awarded the rank of lieutenant general. Han Liancheng did not hesitate to choose the latter.

On February 27, 1984, Comrade Han Liancheng died of illness in Beijing, ending his legendary life.

Chiang Ching-kuo once called him "the longest-lurking and most secretive invisible general" and "the most dangerous co-spy."

In the morning light of the Northern Expedition, the War of Resistance, and the construction of a new China, his name appeared from time to time, and he was Han Liancheng.

Go deep into the tiger's den and walk on the tip of the sword, just for a sacred belief: dedication to the country, what a noble feeling! Although he is known as the "invisible general", what cannot be hidden is the patriotic heart, and the personality of the tall and mighty shore cannot be hidden!
