Civil Aviation Resource Network November 21, 2021 news: A few days ago, Rolls-Royce (referred to as "Rolls-Royce") officially announced that the "Innovative Spirit" all-electric aircraft flew 3 kilometers at a speed of 555.9 kilometers per hour (345.4 miles) on November 16 this year, thus breaking the world record for electric aircraft speed. In subsequent tests, The Innovative Spirit also flew more than 15 kilometers at a speed of 532.1 km / h and climbed to 3,000 meters in 202 seconds, setting two other new world records. These data and speed records have been submitted to the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale ("FAI").

According to information provided by Rolls-Royce, during its record-breaking flight tests, the innovation spirit reached a top speed of 623 km/h (387.4 mph), which is believed to make the "innovative spirit" the world's fastest all-electric vehicle.

In March this year, Rolls-Roy successfully completed the taxi test of the "Innovative Spirit". In September, the first flight of the Innovative Spirit was also a complete success.

It is understood that the UK's Institute of Aeronautical Technology (ATI), as well as the UK's Department of Commerce, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the UK's Innovation UK, jointly provided half of the funding support for the project.

The relevant person in charge of Luo Luo said that the "Innovative Spirit" electric aircraft is a representative project in the electric flight section of the company's net zero carbon emission roadmap. Electric flight is a key component of Rolls-Royce's sustainability of the aviation industry and one of the ways the company decarbonises its civil aviation business.
