One of the world records for the longest lived and hardest to break in human swimming history was made in Fukuoka on the evening of the 23rd!

At the Fukuoka Swimming World Championships, France's Marchand broke Phelps' world record in the men's 400m medley set at the 2008 Beijing Olympics with a new record of 4:02.50.

In the men's 400m medley final at the Beijing Olympics on August 10, 2008, Phelps set a world record of 4:03.84 and officially embarked on a crazy journey to eight gold medals.
