As the first student in the Beijing Film Academy Acting Department and the youngest freshman in the class, Liu Zi said that she was very lucky, and she cooperated with excellent actors at the beginning of filming, but in fact, she really wanted to be an actor after the age of 30, in recent years, she participated in high-topic works such as "Shanghai Women's Picture Book" and "Young Pi", but she still obviously felt that the market has undergone a lot of changes, "looking for my play is less and less", "I am an actor" at the beginning of this year, Liu Zi also left about 40+ in the show The discussion of the actress's dilemma and surprises, she said, "Actresses don't expect any surprises after they reach the age of forty, because all surprises are created by themselves.".
But in addition to the identity of an actress, she also has the identity of a designer, and in 2018, Liu Zi founded the original home furnishing brand Zi. improvisation
Liu Zi talked about the scene she was filming recently, on the first day of entering the crew, in order to deliberately make herself very relaxed, she hummed a small song on the set and greeted them when she met people. But in fact, she is not a very open person, "filming is completely into a strange environment, I am actually quite afraid." 」 I get nervous when dealing with unfamiliar people, especially when dealing with a group of people and don't know what to say. But she still put herself in this confrontation. It's a way to find a sense of trust between her and the director and other actors, she said. "I try to relax myself and not presuppose what might happen, because when improvising on the spot, pre-presetting in advance will weaken your sensitivity and reactions."
Just like the first scene of entering the group, Liu Zi encountered a situation that needed to be improvised, all the reactions were the most direct reactions, the first time was particularly poor, and then told the director to do it again. "Presets are the worst enemy of improvisation. When I don't have a preset, I can positively feedback every word he says, and slowly when this sense of constraint is lifted, I build trust with the director, and I will enter in a relatively relaxed state in the next scene. ”
In fact, this kind of non-presupposition is Liu Zi's attitude to life. "I'm particularly afraid of setting limits, many people have a more solidified, rigid set of life principles, but not everyone applies." I will listen to their experiences, but the steering wheel of life still has to be mastered by myself. I want to keep trying new things, good or bad, everything has to be felt by yourself, and then follow your heart to do it, not relying solely on the brain to do the mapping reaction according to the past or other people's experience. ”
From actor to design
The starting point for doing the design, Liu Zi said, was originally to balance his anxiety. I've been filming all that time, but not every character has enjoyed it that much. At that time, she often thought about how to act and what it meant for her to shoot, and even began to have confusion about whether to continue acting.
Visiting home furnishing stores has become a way for her to decompress, and she has left contact information in large and small home furnishing stores in Beijing, so she has met a circle of friends in the home design industry.
But before becoming a designer, Liu Zi had no experience in the design industry at all. She loves to focus on materials and draws a lot of inspiration from Kartell (a famous Italian furniture brand); until she is impressed by the pure natural color of the mineral powder. She thought, why don't you create and express yourself? That's how she started her three-year career as a designer.
The design exposed her to a different world from the actor's identity, from the product to the packaging to the brochure, and she had to personally fight in every link until 2020 to 2021, "The impact and blow of the epidemic is really big, and then I told the team, stop for the time being." Liu Zi said.
When doing design, she needs to stay up late and work overtime to deal with all kinds of people, which makes her more inspired to cut into the performance, "Before, my understanding of the role was relatively single, now I will have a different perspective, and I will take the initiative to ask the director what kind of picture he wants, learn from excellent actors, and the feedback from others on the shooting scene will make me very excited." ”
Liu Zi admitted that she was very lucky in being an actor, and she had just debuted with many senior actor partners. But after the age of 30, she really began to want to be a good actor. "In fact, it is also a process, after you have experience, you will think, you will continue to ask yourself, what kind of person you want to become." 」
Liu Zi defines both acting and design as a kind of derailment. Her definition of "derailment" is interesting, that is, she wants to make herself willful. She felt that the dull days needed some shock, and she did not reject this occasional out-of-control life.
