As for Wang Dongxing, Chairman Mao once commented on it. Since the smoke and flames of war, Chairman Mao and Wang Dongxing have been getting along for nearly 30 years, and the friendship between the two has become deeper and deeper with the growth of the years.
On September 9, 1976, the great leader Chairman Mao passed away. The passing of the President was a source of grief for everyone, but they had to accept that fact.
In order to deal with the posthumous affairs of the chairman, on September 16, the text on the discussion of Chairman Mao's eulogy was held at the Zhongnanhai Political Hall.

So what suggestion did Wang Dongxing put forward? And what kind of deep friendship does he have with the chairman?
At the beginning of 1947, Chiang Kai-shek changed his original tactics and decided to make Hu Zongnan attack the northern Shaanxi base area with 10 times the strength of our army in the form of a key offensive, in a vain attempt to disintegrate the will of our army by destroying the command center of our party. In this regard, many people have made the decision to swear to die and defend Yan'an.
However, compared with others, the chairman believed that although the enemy looked menacing and the enemy was outnumbered, in fact, the enemy at this time was already at the end of the crossbow. Therefore, at this important juncture in history, Chairman Mao made the strategic decision to withdraw from Yan'an and switch to northern Shaanxi. It was also during this period that Wang Dongxing came to Chairman Mao's side.
At this critical juncture, Wang Dongxing, who was selected by Chairman Mao to serve as deputy director of the Office of the Secretariat of the CENTRAL Committee and director of the Security Department, was not ordinary in his status and abilities in all aspects.
As early as 1929, Wang Dongxing, who was born poor, after seeing the sufferings of various people at the bottom, he had a very high ideological consciousness, although he was only 13 years old at the time, he had already set a lofty ambition to serve the country and threw himself into the embrace of the revolution.
Among them, he performed very well in all aspects, and joined the Communist Youth League at the age of 15. Later, after passing the test of revolution and artillery fire, he became a member of the Communist Party at the age of 16.
Subsequently, Wang Dongxing followed the Red Army units to participate in several successive anti-"encirclement and suppression" wars. Not only that, in the process of the Long March, zunyi, Huili, Wuqizhen and other battles have his presence. Therefore, it can be said that Wang Dongxing was an old revolutionary who grew up in the ranks of the Red Army and under the education of the party organization, and his own strength was extraordinary, and he went all the way from a soldier, squad leader, and instructor to the post of deputy director of the political department of the Ministry of Health of the Central Military Commission and chief of the organization section of the political department.
It is precisely because of this that Wang Dongxing received an important task entrusted by Chairman Mao when he was first at Chairman Mao's side.
On June 7, 1947, at this time, Liu Jie had already led the enemy army to Wangjiawan, and through the current situation, the chairman analyzed that the enemy's attempts may be three, the first is to eliminate our army, and the other is to drive our army east and cross the Yellow River. The third is to drive our army into the desert and let our army starve to death.
In this regard, the chairman made a decision: We will not go anywhere, we will stay in northern Shaanxi, and when the enemy comes from the east, our army will go west, and even if it is dragged, it will drag the enemy down.
After finalizing the retreat plan, everyone moved, and the enemy, who was moving very fast, was now getting closer and closer to our garrison. But at this moment, Chairman Mao was still sitting in the room, as if he were waiting for something.
For the sake of the chairman's safety, Premier Zhou hurriedly came over and urged, "Chairman, now the enemy is close to us, and we are about to arrive at Wangjiawan, for your safety, please quickly pack up and evacuate with the large troops." ”
But compared with Premier Zhou's anxiety, the chairman did not care about this, but instead smiled and said, "Don't worry, don't worry, I have to wait and see what the enemy looks like." ”
Hearing the chairman's words, Ren Bi was anxious and waited for the enemy to come before leaving, which was not equivalent to putting the chairman's in danger? Thinking of this, he immediately objected, "Chairman, everything else is good to say, but this cannot be done by you, you must listen to us, and evacuate immediately." ”
The chairman waved his hand and said, "Don't panic, you go first, I want to see the enemy before I go." ”

Seeing that Chairman Mao's mind had been decided, Premier Zhou and Ren Bishi hurriedly gathered together to find a way. After beating the enemy to a dizzy halt, Wang Dongxing immediately led the retreat, stirring up the enemy's vain attempt to "encircle and suppress" Wangjiawan's plan, so it was postponed for a full twelve hours, and the illusion was created for the enemy that our army was defecting to the main force to the west.
On the evening of June 9, Wang Dongxing, who had completed the task assigned by the chairman, led the soldiers and quietly withdrew from the hilltop temple to the west of Wangjiawan.
With the help of the starlight, Wang Dongxing and the others hurried to the mouth of Tianciwan Village, and the avant-garde soldiers led them to the detachment station.
Comrades such as Chairman Mao, Premier Zhou, and Ren Bishi, who had been waiting here earlier, hurriedly greeted them, shook the hands of Wang Dongxing and others, and said happily, "You have done a good job!" With a small number of troops, a large number of enemies were blocked, which bought precious time for our army's operation. ”
Subsequently, after Wang Dongxing reported on the situation of the enemy, the chairman was even more satisfied. Since then, the chairman has become more and more trusting of Wang Dongxing.
Because earlier, Liu Jie's troops pounced on Wangjiawan, and they still tried their best to bite the whereabouts of our army if they refused to die about it.
Chairman Mao, who had made up his mind to stay in northern Shaanxi and fight the enemy to the end, once again gave Wang Dongxing the task of leading a company of troops to fight another battle with the enemy who was trailing behind.
Among them, Wang Dongxing firmly remembered the chairman's explanation that the enemy should not eat well and sleep well, stir them up with trepidation and exhaustion, and even more let them not know how many people to fight again. He ambushed the enemy at 3 commanding heights in Takagakawa.
In the case of accomplishing the task twice in a row, the chairman favored Wang Dongxing more and trusted him more deeply.
In March 1949, when the three major battles had ended, Chairman Mao, Premier Zhou and other central leaders relocated the central organs to Beijing, and everyone was thrilled by the journey that Chairman Mao called "entering Beijing to catch the examination".
Among them, Wang Dongxing led the guards together and drove a jeep to open the road in front of them. Two days later, in the welcome of democrats and enthusiastic people, they arrived in Beijing. For this experience, even after many years, Wang Dongxing still remembers it vividly, he said, "We, like Chairman Mao, are excited and excited, and after so many years of hard work, we finally came to Beijing."
In 1955, Wang Dongxing, who had made many meritorious contributions in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation and had meritorious service in protecting Chairman Mao, was also awarded the rank of major general.
However, although Wang Dongxing served as vice minister of public security and director of the General Staff Security Bureau after this, the work of protecting Chairman Mao's safety and guarding Zhongnanhai has never changed.
In addition to handing over his work in Zhongnanhai to Wang Dongxing, Chairman Mao, who had a special trust in Wang Dongxing, also entrusted him with the security work of his first trip to the Soviet Union. You must know that at that time, when New China was just founded, secret agents, traitors, and other elements were eager to move in a vain attempt to threaten Chairman Mao's security, so it was not easy to do a good job in this work.
To this end, Wang Dongxing considered all aspects of this situation, in addition to dispatching enough troops to guard the route of Chairman Mao's path, and Wang Dongxing specially accompanied Chairman Mao to do security work.
Because of this, Chairman Mao once commented on Wang Dongxing: "He has always wanted to follow me, others I am not at ease when I use them, Dongxing is by my side, I am used to it...."
Although the chairman's words did not praise Wang Dongxing too much, it was enough to see the chairman's trust and affirmation of Wang Dongxing.
Not only that, but when Chairman Mao needed to convey important information at that time, it was often conveyed by Wang Dongxing. When it is necessary to visit some leaders, Wang Dongxing also goes in place of the chairman, so instead of saying that the chairman is used to Wang Dongxing being by his side, it is better to say that the chairman entrusts his "back" to him.

The death of the chairman is unacceptable to everyone, and Wang Dongxing is the same, thinking of the chairman he accompanies every day, but he will never see him again in the future. Although he was well aware of the chairman's condition before this and was mentally prepared, he could not accept it.
However, the chairman's posthumous affairs have not yet been handled, and he cannot be buried in grief. In this regard, Wang Dongxing perked up and worked with the members of the Politburo of the Central Committee to deal with the posthumous affairs of the chairman.
On September 16, two days before Chairman Mao's memorial service was held, members of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee discussed the memorial service in Zhongnanhai.
To this end, Wang Dongxing specially summoned Zhou Qicai and said, "There are two things I hope you can convey to Comrade Hua Guofeng on my behalf, one is that I cannot attend this afternoon's meeting, I want to stay here to protect the remains of the chairman, and I hope that you can ask Comrade Hua Guofeng for leave on my behalf." The other is that I have read the eulogy manuscript three times, and I think it can basically be used, but there is a supplementary suggestion, that is, I hope that chairman Mao's instructions will be added to the manuscript in the appropriate place: "We must engage in Chairman Marx, not revisionism; we must unite and not split; we must be upright and upright, and we must not engage in conspiracies and tricks', and I think it is very necessary to add this instruction of Chairman Mao." ”
Zhou Qicai was very sympathetic to Wang Dongxing's suggestion, so after the conference began, Zhou Qicai stood up and conveyed Wang Dongxing's suggestion.
In this regard, Hua Guofeng pointed to the person responsible for revising the eulogy and decided to "I agree with Comrade Dongxing's suggestion, and since there is no objection, then add the chairman's important instructions to the appropriate place for the eulogy." ”
On September 18, before Chairman Mao's memorial service began, people from all over the world gathered in Tiananmen Square, and at about 3 p.m., the memorial service officially began in mourning, Hua Guofeng choked up, and gave a difficult word-by-word eulogy, while saying, "Everyone must turn grief into strength, and under the leadership of the Party Central Committee, carry out the proletarian revolutionary cause pioneered by Chairman Mao to the end..." In February 1980, Wang Dongxing resigned from all his posts and retired from the political scene, but despite this, his thoughts about the chairman continued unabated. Whenever he encounters the chairman's birthday and death day, he will personally go to the chairman's memorial hall to pay respects to the chairman's remains and present flowers to the chairman.
On August 21, 2015, Comrade Wang Dongxing, who contributed his life to New China, died in Beijing at the age of 100.
