The colorful underwater world is full of wonderful camouflage techniques all the time

From giant whale sharks to tiny hippocampuses, every creature exhibits an amazing ability to cope with environmental challenges. In Ocean World, a game of "hide and seek" between predators and prey takes place in different depths of water. Predators may swim upstream, drift in or dive into the water, as may prey. Their camouflage needs to take these directional factors into account. Pictured here is Phycodurus eques; southern Australia, York Peninsula, Edithborough, Wool Bay.
