Wu Changshuo (1844-1927), a well-known figure in the history of modern Chinese art, was one of the four masters of traditional Chinese painting in China, a collection of poems, books, paintings and prints, a generation of masters at home and abroad, and the first president of Xiling Printing Society.

Zheng Xiaoxu (1860-1938), the leader of the Min school of poetry, the representative figure of the "Tongguang Body" poetry school, and a very individual calligrapher in modern times.

Mr. Sha Menghai has a high evaluation of Zheng Xiaoxu's calligraphy, saying: "The only one who can correct the shortcomings of Zhao Zhiqian's (1829-1884) drift, Tao Junxuan's (1846-1912) and Li Ruiqing's (1867-1920) trembling pen is Zheng Xiaoxu." His works, with their fierce color and songxiu interest, live like his poems, in the midst of chonghe, with an atmosphere of excitement. ”

Yu Fan (1821-1907), Zi Yinfu, No. Quyuan, a native of Deqin County, Huzhou, Zhejiang, was a famous writer, educator and calligrapher in the late Qing Dynasty. He was a scholar of the Qing Dynasty (1850) in the 30th year of the Qing Dynasty, who was deeply appreciated by Zeng Guofan and went to Henan to study politics, and after being deposed, he lectured at the Jingjing Jingshe (the lonely mountain of Hangzhou's West Lake) for more than 30 years.

Yu Fan was a very influential scholar in the late Qing Dynasty, Zhang Taiyan, Wu Changshuo, etc. all went out of his door, and many scholars at home and abroad sought from him and respected him as a master of Pu Xue.

Yu Yuzhi's studies are mainly based on scriptures, and his notes are widely collected, along with zhuzi studies, historiography, exegesis, and even opera, poetry, novels, calligraphy, etc. He wrote tirelessly throughout his life, leaving behind the Emperor's 500-volume masterpiece "The Complete Book of Spring in the Hall".

This "Letter from Wu Changshuo to Hong Erzhen on Official Affairs" is an important historical material for the study of Wu Changshuo's attitude toward officialdom. What kind of attitude does Wu Changshuo have toward being an official?

In 1906, Hong Erzhen was deposed and dismissed from his post, so Wu Changshuo wrote a letter of condolence: "Knowing the public and unloading the errand is beneficial to the sick body, and unloading it is also ... In fact, when my generation is on an errand, I may not be able to enter the path of wealth and nobility. I don't feel sorry for the public...".

This may show Wu Changshuo's own attitude of disappointment in the officialdom. On the one hand, the meager income of lower-level officials is difficult to meet Wu Changshuo's family expenses.

On the other hand, Wu Changshuo also mentioned in his letter that he had "visited and 30 days in and out of the country and saw many sufferings among the people." Wu Changshuo, who was once the "January Andong County Order", saw many people's sufferings, but he could not share the worries of the people on his own, which may also be a reason for Wu Changshuo's departure from the official.

Yu Yu to Hong Erzhen's family letter about Yu His Majesty's return home

In May 1900, the Boxers entered Beijing and Tianjin, and Yu Yuyun (1868-1950), the grandson of Yu Fan, who was serving as an official in the capital at the time, wanted to take a leave of absence to return to the south. Perhaps because of the turmoil, his voice was intermittent, which once made Yu Fan very worried, and he was "uneasy about sleeping".

Fortunately, Yu Xiaoyun received the help of the Great Dao King V, and although he went through twists and turns, he finally returned to the south smoothly.

Wang Zhengyi (1844-1900), zibin, ancestral home of Cangzhou, Hebei, was a famous warrior of The Martial Arts of The Beijing Division. Because he studied the art of the master, he ranked fifth, and was known as the "Little Five Sons"; and because he was skilled in sword skills and noble in morality, everyone respected him as "The Fifth King of the Great Sword".

The Great Sword King Wu has been a hero and a righteous warrior in his lifetime, has supported the restoration and reform of the law, and has gone to the country to be in distress, becoming a generation of heroes praised by everyone. Among the top ten masters of the late Qing Dynasty, which is widely circulated by the people, it is on a par with famous martial artists such as Yanzi Li San, Huo Yuanjia, and Huang Feihong.

The Fifth Great Sword King was willing to rescue Yu His Majesty, on the one hand, because of his heroic and righteous arrogance, on the other hand, it also had a certain relationship with the prestige and status of the Yu Yu family.

Sun Tzu's safe return to the south also made the dark clouds in Yu Fan's heart disperse, and he had a joking mood.
