Yu Fan (25 December 1821 – 5 February 1907), courtesy name Yinfu, was a resident of Quyuan, a native of Nandai Village, Chengguan Township, Deqing, Zhejiang. Famous scholar, writer, classicist, paleographer and calligrapher of the late Qing Dynasty. The great-grandfather of the modern poet Yu Pingbo, Zhang Taiyan, Wu Changshuo, and Chen Zheng in Inoue of Japan, were all under his command. In the 30th year of Qing Daoguang (1850), he entered the priesthood and served as an editor of the Hanlin Academy.

Yu Fan was later appreciated by the Xianfeng Emperor and allowed to study politics in Henan, and was impeached by Yushi Cao Dengyong for "splitting the scriptures with examination questions", so he was deposed. He moved to Suzhou and devoted himself to scholarship for more than 40 years. The study of governance is mainly based on scripture, and the study of the sons, history, exegesis, and even opera, poetry, novels, calligraphy, etc., can be described as broad and profound. Hainei, Japan, Korea and other countries studied with him a lot of scholars, and he was respected as a master of Park Xue. He wrote more than 500 volumes, called "The Complete Book of Spring in the Hall". In addition to the 50 volumes of the Qunjing Pingyi, the 50 volumes of the Zhuzi Pinghui, the 16 volumes of the Tea Room Sutra, and the 7 volumes of the Examples of Doubts in Ancient Books, his "First Floor Series" has 30 volumes and "Quyuan Yulou Miscellaneous" has a total of 100 volumes. The Draft History of the Qing Dynasty has been passed down.
