In April 144, Liu Bing was made crown prince. In August, Emperor Shun of Han died, and Liu Bing, who was only two years old, succeeded to the throne as Emperor Chong of Han, honoring Emperor Shun of Han with Empress Dowager Liang as empress dowager, and was regent by Liang Fei.
