It was also from this time that Shen Shou, Yu Jue, and Zhang Xiao fell into a protracted emotional entanglement.
That year, Shen Shou was not young, but she was still outstanding, she had fair skin, a graceful figure, a delicate demeanor, a gentle temperament, her book temperament and exquisite embroidery skills, so that zhang Xiao, who had a wealth of experience, was deeply impressed, and a different kind of emotion arose from her heart.

Shen Shou received strong support from Zhang Xiao in Nantong, and felt his respect and admiration for traditional skills, she said: "Si Gong knows me, embroidery to support me, confidant; I do my best to repay", and the gratitude is overflowing with words.
At the same time, the concern from Zhang Xiao also made her feel the male love that she had not had for many years, which made her both touched and scared.
After Zhang Xiao's Haoyang Building was completed, he lived in half of it himself, and the other half was inhabited by Shen Shou, leaving a small door in the middle.
In 1915, San Francisco hosted the World Expo, Zhang Jian felt that this was a great opportunity to let the world know about Nantong's agricultural, industrial and commercial products, and decided to take the embroidery of the Women's Workers' Training Institute as one of the exhibits. Shen Shou hugged his illness and rushed to embroider the "Statue of Jesus". In the end, "The Statue of Jesus" won the gold medal for its use of more than 100 thread colors and innovative imitation embroidery methods.

Shen Shou taught in Nantong, Yu Jue worked in the Shanghai Embroidery and Weaving Company, the husband and wife did not have time to accompany each other, just during Shen Shou's trip to San Francisco, Yu Jue married two aunts in succession.
Shen Shou was hit by this and his body became even weaker. Fortunately, Zhang Jian gave Shen Shou strong support and love. In order to dispel Shen Shou's sorrows, Zhang Jian taught her poetry and song. After a long period of contact, they have been flowing in the mountains and rivers between them, and their hearts and minds are connected.
Zhang Jian often wrote poems to give to Shen Shou, some of which clearly showed admiration, such as: "Embroidery Duan Bao's Qingyu Case; The Pearl is tied in a red luo. ”
Xiu Duan is "embroidered satin", praising Shen Shou's embroidery work is very good. The problem arises in the next sentence, which is born from the famous Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Yuan's "Festival Of Women's Yin": "Junzhi concubines have husbands, give concubines pearls; Tied in red crochet. ...... Jun Mingzhu wept bitterly, hating not meeting and not marrying. ”
The poem expresses the regret that men and women love and hate each other late and can only live up to each other, although the woman rejects the man, but it is clear that it is still very affectionate.
Zhang Xiao is a champion, it is impossible to use this allusion casually, many people conclude that Zhang Xiao and Shen Shou have a relationship.
Zhang Xiao also has a poem for Shen Shou, in which he writes: "The yangzhi silk is short and the willow silk is long, and it can also hurt if it is twisted and twisted; it is necessary to combine a pool of smoke and water vapor, and protect the mandarin duck in a long and short length." ”
The Mandarin Duck symbolizes love, and Zhang Jian wants to "protect the Mandarin Duck", which is to make a pair of "Mandarin Ducks" with Shen Shou!
In the face of Zhang Xiao's warm feelings, Shen Shou did not dare to accept it. She was grateful for Zhang Xiao's kindness and was touched by Zhang Xiao's care for her, but she still adhered to the etiquette system.
Shen Shou felt disappointed and sorry for Yu Jue in his heart, and also longed for a sincere feeling. However, Shen Shou is always gentle, and she weaves this sentiment in her heart into an embroidery to give to Zhang Xiao. She cut off her own hair, and embroidered Zhang Xiao's handwriting "Qianting" with her sick body one stitch at a time. This work, which is full of Shen Shou's deep feelings, also made Zhang Xiao doubly moved.

The relationship between the two deepened, but Shen Shou's condition became more and more serious. In order not to lose Shen Shou's skills, Zhang Xiao decided to help Shen Shou write a book.
At this time, Shen Shou was already weak, Zhang Xiao let Shen Shou lie on the bed and dictate, written by him, "one thing, one thing, one needle, one law, pondering details, remembering for the category", the two worked hard for three months, and finally wrote a monograph of "Snow Eunuch Embroidery", which not only contains Shen Shou's more than 30 years of technical experience and creative experience, but also a testimony to the emotions of the two. This is the first work in China to systematically introduce the theory and techniques of embroidery.
In the summer of 1921, the light of Shen Shou's life dimmed day by day. In the last days of his life, Zhang Xiao has always been with him. After eight years of getting along, it was finally the moment of separation, which made people feel sad.
On June 8, the 47-year-old Shen Shou passed away, and zhang Xiao was still with her. The 72-year-old Zhang Jian, ignoring fame, status, and worldly vision, grabbed Shen Shou's hand and burst into tears.
Before his death, Shen Shou confessed that he would not enter the Yu family after his death and was buried in Nantong. Dear reader, what does such a decision mean in such an era? This not only reflects her disappointment in Yu Jue, but also reflects her sense of belonging to Zhang Xiao.

After Shen Shou's death, Yu Jue wrote the "Painful History of Shen Shou and His Wife", and denounced Zhang Xiaokou, and he photocopied Zhang Xiao's letters and poems to Shen Shou, accusing Zhang Xiao of "Que Chao Dove Occupation".
During Shen Shou's serious illness, Yu Jue ignored it and asked Shen Shou for a bonus table. Yu Jue twice wanted to sell Shen Shou's embroidery products abroad, and Zhang Jian went to the phone to inform him that he was only allowed to exhibit. Zhang Xiao left a precious artistic wealth for the Chinese people.
Yu Jue and Shen Shou once loved each other so much, but the love lasted and also needed to be kept fresh, unfortunately, some of Yu Jue's practices deeply hurt Shen Shou's heart.
Zhang Xiao's feelings for Shen Shou may not be tolerated by the world, love, perhaps there is no right or wrong in itself, but at the wrong time, he met the right person.
Five years later, Zhang Jian died.
