On the evening of August 22, bank of communications (601328.sh,03328.hk) issued an announcement that Wu Wei had submitted a written report to the bank's board of directors due to job transfer, resigned as an executive director, a member of the board's strategy committee (inclusive financial development committee), a member of the board's social responsibility and consumer rights protection committee, and a vice president and chief financial officer, with effect from August 22, 2019.

Wu Wei has gone to Shanxi Province.

According to Hubei Daily, on August 16, Hubei Province and Shanxi Province signed an agreement in Wuhan to comprehensively strengthen regional coordination in the field of health and jointly build a regional medical center in Shanxi Province. Wu Wei attended the signing ceremony as a member of the party group of the Shanxi Provincial Government.

Previously, a number of media reports, including the Securities Times, said that Wu Wei would serve as vice governor of Shanxi Province. This means that the number of financial system cadres serving as local vice governors will increase by one, and Wu Wei is also the second financial system cadre to be transferred to the local government in a month. Zhang Lilin, vice president of China Construction Bank, was transferred to the post of vice governor of Liaoning Province on July 30.

Among the current vice governors of finance, Wu Wei is the second to be transferred from the post of vice president of the Bank of Communications, and in July 2017, Wang Jiang was transferred to the vice governor of Jiangsu Province.

Born in August 1969, Wu Wei joined the Bank of Communications in July 1998, and until January 2010, he successively served as the head, deputy director and deputy general manager of the financial department of the financial and accounting department of the Bank of Communications, the deputy general manager and general manager of the budget and finance department, from January 2010 to October 2011, Wu Wei served as the president of the Liaoning Branch of the Bank of Communications, then returned to the budget and finance department of the bank of communications as the general manager until July 2013, and from July 2013 to April 2015, he served as the general manager of the investment banking department of the Bank of Communications. After Wu Wei was transferred to Shanxi, the four vice presidents of the Bank of Communications were Hou Weidong, 59, Guo Mang, 57, Lu Jiajin, who was transferred from the post of president of the Postal Savings Bank in January, and Yin Jiuyong, who was transferred from vice president of the Agricultural Development Bank of China in July.
