Hollywood movie star Mel Gibson was reportedly hospitalized for a week in April for the new crown virus and was cured by taking the broad-spectrum antiviral drug remdesivir. Gibson has not disclosed to the outside world that he was hospitalized for infection until recently by the media.

A spokesman for Gibson said Gibson, 64, was tested for covid-19 in April and hospitalized for a week for treatment. During his hospitalization, he was treated with remdesivir. Since then, several tests have been taken, all of which have been negative and antibodies have been produced.

On July 12, reporters photographed Gibson and his 30-year-old girlfriend Rosalind Rose hanging out in Malibu wearing masks.

Remdesivir is a spectral antiviral drug developed by Gilead Technologies, and the U.S. government has purchased 90% of the remdesivir produced by the company in the next three months.

Gibson's California had fewer than 10,000 infections in early April, but by the end of April the number of infected had soared to 46,570. Currently, California has the highest number of infections among any U.S. state.
