Qian Yi (c. 1032–1113) was a famous pediatrician of the Northern Song Dynasty. The character Zhongyang, han Chinese, a native of Yun Prefecture (郓州, in present-day Dongping, Shandong). Orphaned, raised by his aunt and uncle, he studied medicine with his uncle Lü Shi and became a famous pediatrician and was quite famous in Shandong. He was awarded the Title of Hanlin Medicine and served as a Tai Doctor.
Qian Yi has been engaged in pediatrics for 60 years, has accumulated rich clinical experience, and has further developed the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of common pediatric diseases, and the "Outline of the General Catalogue of the Four Libraries" said that "Qian Yi's juvenile department has a unique generation". His works include 5 volumes of "On the Development of Typhoid Fever", 100 articles on "Theory of Infants and Children", 8 volumes of "Qian's Pediatric Formula", and 3 volumes of "Pediatric Drug Certificate Direct Tips". Only the latter survives, and the others are left behind.
During the reign of Emperor Renzong of the Northern Song Dynasty, in a village in Yunzhou, Shandong Province, a man was packing his bags and preparing for a long journey, and a 3-year-old boy in front of him did not know that tragedy was coming. The man is the father Qian Ying, and the boy is Qian Yi. Father said to Qian Yi: Your mother died early, and you will rely on yourself from now on. Today we are separated, and you will not see me in the future.
Saying that, the father took out a few pieces of money and gave it to his son, and then left. Qian Yi did not understand his father's meaning, did not know that this was a parting from his father's life and death, and did not understand that no one would care about his future eating, drinking, and sleeping, and whether he was dead or alive had nothing to do with his father.

Qian Yi's mother died early, and his father was a doctor who was good at acupuncture, drinking and traveling. At that time, some people pursued the immortal art of immortality, and Qian Ying became fascinated by the art of immortality and wanted to become a fairy. Therefore, this unreliable Qian Ying did not entrust his son to anyone, and embarked on the road of seeking immortality, leaving his son behind. He went all the way east, to the sea, and never came back. According to people's views today, he has no sense of responsibility, is selfish, and abandons young children.
Poor Qian B never waited for his father to return. One day, Qian Yi was hungry and fainted, and people were afraid of starving this child to death, so they quickly informed Qian Yi's aunt and uncle that they had decided to adopt this child after consultation, because they didn't care, Qian Yi would freeze and starve to death, and he would not be able to get by from his conscience.
Qian Yi's uncle's surname is Lü, is a kind village doctor, to practice medicine, there is no name left in the history books, people call it Lü Shi, Qian Yi spent his childhood in his aunt's house. When he reached school age, his uncle sent him to school and took him with him when he went to the clinic. Qian Yi saw that the child was sick, his heart was very painful, Dr. Lu felt strange, such a big child, there is compassion, can not see others suffering, in the future suitable for a doctor, specifically to treat the child.
One day, my uncle said to Qian Yi, "You study medicine and treat the children." Qian Yi nodded in agreement, and Dr. Lu handed him a copy of the "Cranial Fontanelle Sutra" and told him that this was a medical book specializing in the treatment of children's diseases, written by ancient witches, and you should study it carefully. Qian Yi asked, why is the child's illness more difficult to treat?
His uncle told him that the child's pulse is difficult to see, the child cries during the diagnosis, and it is difficult to distinguish by pulse diagnosis; the child's bone qi is not formed, the shape is not correct, the mood is uncertain, and it is difficult to judge the condition by looking at the diagnosis; the child cannot speak, which pain is not clear, the speech is not enough to win the trust, and the condition cannot be determined by inquiry; plus the child's organs are delicate, easy to be virtual and real, easy to cold and hot, and slightly improper medication will make the condition more complicated. Therefore, ningzhi ten men will not rule one woman; ningzhi ten women will not cure a child. Qian Yi seemed to understand that since children's diseases were the most difficult to treat, he decided to take pediatric diseases as the main direction of attack.
Qian Yi stills
Qian Yi studied assiduously and studied medical books such as the Inner Classic, the Treatise on Typhoid Fever, and the Shennong Materia Medica. After about 10 years of study, Qian Yi mastered the basic medical theory, and he began to study the theory of five luck and six qi, which mainly discussed the relationship between cosmic weather and human diseases, and many ancient doctors realized some of the principles of curing diseases.
In order to clarify this theory, he began to observe celestial phenomena. In Dongping, there is a huge tomb of the King of Dongping, and the burial is Liu Cang, the son of Emperor Wu of Han. For more than a month, Qian Yi did not sleep every night, he had to climb up to the tomb of the king, observe the celestial signs, and study the relationship between the movement of celestial constellations and the human body.
When Qian Yi was in his 20s, his aunt died. When the aunt was dying, she called Qian Yi and told him about his life, his mother died early, his father abandoned him when he was 3 years old, and he went to the sea to seek immortals, and his life and death are still unknown, we raised you. Hearing this news, Qian Yi roared like five thunderbolts, and he burst into tears. He often dreamed of his father, which turned out to be true, and the impression of being abandoned in childhood came back to his mind.
After he finished crying, he slowly calmed down, his father abandoned him, but after all, he was his own biological father, as a son, he must find his father, he must see people in life, he must see corpses in death, as long as he is still alive, he must be sent to the end of his life. His aunt and uncle raised him to be better than his own parents, and their kindness should be repaid, not ungrateful. He wanted to look for his father, but his uncle was dying of old age and could not leave him alone. Therefore, he could only take care of his uncle first, and then go to his father later.
My uncle grew older day by day, and his life was coming to an end, and he said to his uncle: You raised me as an adult, we love father and son, I will treat you as my biological father, serve you well, and provide for you. My biological father, whether he is dead or alive, I must find him, he does not support me, I can not be filial to him. If he were alive, he would be old and need to be taken care of, and I would do my duty to serve.
My uncle was very touched, Qian Yi was a sentient and righteous person, and he had not been able to feed him for so many years. After his uncle's death, Qian Yi buried his uncle according to the etiquette, and villagers near and far received news and rushed to the funeral to express their respect for Dr. Lui. In order to repay the nurturing grace of his aunt and uncle, Qian Yi "sacrificed and enjoyed it when he was old, and he was equal to his relatives."
The aunt and uncle left only one daughter, slightly older than Qian Yi, and at this time they also reached the age of marriage. Qian Yi began zhang Luo's sister's marriage, and he had to take on the responsibility of parents. He asked people to find his sister's in-laws, and finally found an object with good age and character.
In the past, children could not marry during the mourning period, but when their parents died twice, and the girls got married, it was a comfort to the spirit of their parents in heaven, and their parents could also smile at the Nine Springs, which belonged to filial piety. Therefore, Qian Yi arranged for his sister's marriage as a parent, but he fulfilled the wish of his aunt and uncle.
After her sister got married, Qian Yi had no worries. He packed his bags and set out on a quest for his father, and he walked along where the sun had risen.
Qian Yi's search for his father is tantamount to finding a needle in a haystack, he only knows that his father "swims east to the sea and never returns." But the vast sea, where to find? Go in the wrong direction, it will be thousands of miles; all year round, it is not suitable for going to the sea every day to find; not to mention that they have not met for more than 20 years, walking on the opposite side may pass by, and the difficulty of searching can be imagined.
While practicing medicine, Qian Yi inquired around, and when the weather was good, he went to the sea to look for it. "Wherever five or six return, there is." He finally got word from his father. "And when you accumulate years, you will return home." Qian Yi took his father home to retire, and Qian Yi was already in his 30s. The villagers could not believe that Qian Ying, who had run away from home for more than 20 years, was finally found by her son.
The father was not incarnated as a fairy, he was still a common man, and he was a down-and-out ordinary man. But Qian Yi's feat of finding his father greatly touched the villagers, which is the real filial piety, this is the real filial piety. Lao Tzu abandoned his son, and the son provided for his father. People "gave many poems to praise Qian Yi's filial piety." Qian Ying lived in his old age from then on, and after another 7 years, Qian Yi's father died, and he buried his father according to etiquette.
