Qian Yi's ancestral home is Qiantang, Zhejiang, and is a branch of Qian Li, the king of Wuyue. Qian Li was the last Wuyue king at the end of the Five Dynasties, and when the Song PingjiangNan was in the south, he raised an army to respond, and in the third year of the Taiping Revival (978), he demoted the Song to the title of vassal of the land of two Zhejiang and thirteen prefectures (present-day Zhejiang and northern Fujian), and later Nashi Beiqi was crowned king of Huaihai. "Gifting the Virtuous House, Ju JingShi", "When the Crown is waiting", his disciples and ministers "all divide the duties of the prefecture and county". Qian Yi's father, Qian Yun, also moved north, so he settled in YunZhou and became a naturalized citizen. Qian Yi was born in the second year of Song Jingyou (1035) and the seventh year of Ding Zhenghe (1117), and it is also believed that it is the first year of Ming Dao (1032) to the third year of Zhenghe (1113), at the age of 82.

Qian Yi studied medicine with his uncle and father, first involving acupuncture and moxibustion, and then specializing in pediatrics. Qian Yi lost his father and mother in his early years, "originally had a disease", because of the painful experience in his childhood, he was particularly concerned about children's diseases, determined to take Guangci child as his responsibility, so he was particularly fond of a pediatric book "Cranial Fontanelle Classic" (written by Wu Fangshi, a former physician in the late Tang and early Song dynasties). When he studied medicine with his uncle, he felt that the incidence of pediatric diseases was high, and it was particularly difficult to diagnose and treat. In the process of being a pediatrician, Qian Yi said with deep experience: "The pulse is difficult to ask for news, and the proof cannot be taken by words, especially the infant and the child of the baby." "The dose is small, paradoxical and unreasonable, and the doctor is not worried;" ("Pediatric Macules Prepared for Emergency Theory • Qian Yi's Later Sequence") In order to make children die less, Qian Yi has been painstakingly studying and working extremely hard. Doctors know that treating pediatric diseases is difficult. In ancient times, pediatrics was called dumb, and there was a saying that "Ning yi ten men, not one woman; Ning yi ten women, not a small child".
For these reasons, many physicians are reluctant to get involved in pediatrics and are mostly discouraged. However, Qian Yi was not intimidated by the difficulties, he went forward in spite of the difficulties, recruited Fu Lan from the side, gathered the ancient and modern, did not adhere to the law, meticulously carried out clinical experience, accumulated rich experience in the treatment of pediatric diseases, and eventually became a generation of pediatric masters.
After ten years of service in Beijing, Qian Yi resigned and returned to his hometown due to "Zhou palsy" disease. After returning home from Beijing, he made a self-made medicine based on the traditional Chinese medicine "Poria Poria", and drank it day and night to "relieve the pain of the heart and abdomen", so that the "Zhou Palsy" was alleviated, and it turned into hand and foot restraint and limb failure. Qian Yi was well-known for his superb medical skills, and although he was sick on the bed, there was still an endless stream of people seeking treatment, and Qian Yi was enthusiastic about diagnosing and treating him and giving him medicines. Qian Yi's disciple Yan Jizhong made a high evaluation of the teacher, Yun: "Its rule of children, summarizing ancient and modern times, and more self-sufficiency, famous in the world." Its method is simple and concise, such as the finger of the palm also. He also said: "The Yu family is naïve and sick, and the rate is to use the Qian method, and the effect is like a god." "Qian Yi went in and out of the palace gate with his superb medical skills, left his traces in xianglu, specialized in traditional Chinese medicine pediatrics, cured tens of thousands of children, and made outstanding contributions to the development of pediatric medicine in China."
In his more than 40 years of pediatric medical career, Qian Yi inherited the achievements of the "Cranial Fontanelle Sutra" and accumulated rich experience. He combined these experiences with classic medical works such as the "Neijing", "Treatise on Typhoid Fever and Miscellaneous Diseases", "Shennong Materia Medica" and other classics and various schools of thought, and wrote a pediatric special book "Pediatric Medicine Certificate Straight Tips", which is the earliest and most practical pediatric monograph in China. However, due to the busy medical work during his lifetime, the content of the original book was relatively messy, and later it was collected, sorted, checked and edited by his disciple Yan Jizhong, cut its repetition, and corrected its fallacies, and was officially published in the first year of Song Xuanhe (1119). The whole book of "Pediatric Drug Evidence Direct Tips" is divided into 3 volumes, the first volume discusses the pulse evidence treatment method, a total of 47 articles, 81 articles; the middle volume lists medical cases, recording 23 cases; the next volume contains prescription drugs, detailing 114 commonly used prescriptions for children. At the end of the book are Yan Jizhong's "Yan's Pediatric Formula" volume 1 and Shandong Dongping Dongji's "Pediatric Rash Prepared Emergency Prescription Theory" compiled by Dong Ji in Shandong Province. Combining theory and practice, the book is the first ancient pediatric work in the world to be preserved in its original form. In addition, Qian Yi also authored 5 volumes of "On the Finger of Typhoid Fever" and 100 articles on "TheOry of Infants and Children", but unfortunately they have all disappeared.
After the advent of "Pediatric Medicine Certificates", it has been highly valued by successive generations of doctors and has been listed as a must-read book for pediatric research. The Compendium of the General Catalogue of the Four Libraries says: "The Children's Scriptures, which are rare through the ages, have not been specialized since the beginning of the B, and their books are also the originators of the juvenile family, and posterity has its introduction, and often has the merit of rejuvenation." The Japanese physician Tanba Yuanyin said in his book "Examination of Chinese Medical Records", "Its meaning is straight and straight, its speech is strong and sharp, its square is cut and good, its hard work and speed, its depth is deep, and its words are widely practiced." All the worlds cannot hide their wonders, and all four sides can obey their words", giving the book a very high evaluation.
As a great pediatric expert in traditional Chinese medicine, although Qian Yi has left us for more than 800 years, his name and his pediatric masterpiece "Pediatric Medicine Certificate Direct Tips" will forever remain in the glorious history of the motherland's medicine.
