In 1968, I walked out of the school gate of Tianshan Middle School, stepped into the door of Shanghai Food Machinery Factory, and embarked on the job of my life. In early September, five years after the spring and autumn, I left the factory and went to the Department of Economics of Fudan University to study. Three years later, he graduated and joined the faculty of the Department of Economics. Soon, after smashing the "Gang of Four", I was seconded to the school review team for nearly a year, and after the case was closed, I was transferred to the office of the school party committee.

At that time, the school leaders were: Xia Zhengnong, secretary of the party committee, Chen Wangdao, the principal, and Su Buqing, the vice president, but the old age was high and had never been seen. In April 1978, Elder Su was appointed as the principal, and at the beginning of the following year, Elder Xia was transferred to the Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, and Comrade Sheng Hua was appointed as the Secretary of the Party Committee of the School. At this point, the organization made it clear that I would serve as the secretary of the secretary. In this way, in my daily work, I have the privilege of getting to know several famous teachers and people in Fudan, although it is only "bit by bit", or bit by bit, I still feel their spirit and their demeanor.

Elder Su is one of the people I know who has more contact.

As soon as the "Cultural Revolution" ended, Fudan was faced with "a hundred wastes to be rebuilt," and it was necessary to rectify the chaos, carry out exposing and criticizing the investigation, carry out a review, and rectify a large number of unjust, false, and wrong cases, and at the same time resume college entrance examination enrollment, rebuild various disciplines, professions, and carry out the construction of various scientific research. And one of the busy, that is, there will be more. The most important meeting is the joint meeting of party committees and principals to jointly discuss and decide on major issues of the school.

The conference room is in Secretary Sheng Hua's office, and on the second floor of the second building of the four buildings (one is the office of the president and vice president, the second is the office of the secretary and the party committee, the third is the Propaganda Department, the United Front Work Department, the school journal, etc., and the fourth building is the Organization Department and the Discipline Inspection Commission). At that time, the office conditions were very simple, it could be said that it was simple, facing the window to the south, sitting on the east and west side was a desk, facing two chairs, and on the west side were two bookcases; on the north side and north of the desk, there was a row of old sofas (the cloth cover of the sofa was washed on the edge), and on the other west side were several folding chairs.

There are many meetings, sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes throughout the day. Whether it is morning or afternoon, whether it is windy or rainy, whether it is cold or hot, Su Lao is always the same, five minutes early, never late once. Once before the meeting, thunder and lightning, pouring heavy rain, I and the office comrades were worried about whether Elder Su could come, and was about to suggest to Comrade Shenghua whether the meeting was delayed a little, just at this time, Elder Su held up an umbrella, smiled and walked in, rolled up the trouser legs, the jacket had been wet, and even the brown briefcase under the armpits had also entered the water. When we saw this scene, we were all extremely moved, unable to speak, and rushed to wipe the water for him, but he said it was okay and walked into the conference room.

As a meeting recorder, the office is next door, close at hand, is the only place to enter the venue, often Su Lao smiled and took the initiative to greet me, "Comrade Xiao Gu, good morning", hearing the strong Zhejiang township tone, I will suddenly have a warm current in my heart. Sometimes, as soon as I entered the venue, I saw That Elder Su sitting on the sofa and talking to colleagues around me or carefully reading the meeting documents.

Elder Su and the leaders all have a habitual position, his position is close to Secretary Shenghua, his ears are a little back, it may be because of his age, when listening to other comrades' speeches, the look is very concentrated, one moment turning his head sideways, the other turning his head sideways, sometimes nodding frequently, sometimes laughing with his heart, sometimes expressing his own opinions, sometimes saying yes or different opinions.

From these subtle and imperceptible details, I deeply felt the demeanor of such a master and everyone as Elder Su - that is, "respect" for people.

I remember one day in the middle of summer in 1979, at about one o'clock in the afternoon, I hurried to the physics department to find out about a situation. At the entrance of the library, due to myopia, I couldn't see the faces of the pedestrians not far away, and I only heard "Comrade Xiao Gu, good afternoon, where to go?" Looking up, Elder Su had walked in front of him. I quickly stopped and stood down and replied, "Hello Su Lao, I'm sorry, my eyes are short-sighted, I didn't see you." I went to the physics department. "Oh, there you go, but I suggest you wear glasses." I hastened to say yes. Soon I put on my glasses and started to be four eyes. For decades, thousands of times, I have taken off my glasses and put them on, and I will never forget the scene when Su Lao asked me to wear glasses. "Respect" for others has taken root in my heart.

In 1982, on the night of the Twelfth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the eight-o'clock press communiqué was about to be published, and Comrade Zhang Chengjun, a reporter of the Liberation Daily, contacted him by telephone in the afternoon to ask for an interview with Elder Su, who gladly accepted. At 7:50 p.m. that night, I accompanied Comrade Zhang Chengjun to Su Lao's apartment in the ninth dormitory of Fudan University. As soon as I entered the door, I saw that Elder Su was in a very happy mood, full of smiles, and was waving with great interest, and the TV set next to the writing desk had long been turned on, and he smiled and said: "Immediately, immediately, please sit, please sit." Seeing this scene, I actually blurted out on a whim, without thinking: "Elder Su, for your convenience, please give Mo Bao a picture." "My writing is not good, just eighty to learn to blow, write and play. However, I want to learn the Su body of our Su family. He said and laughed. I said, "It's Su Dongpo, Su Ti." He laughed again.

We listened to the news broadcast of the Twelfth National Congress together, and then he talked with great interest about his viewing experience. Reporter Zhang and I quickly recorded that Elder Su talked about it, his thinking was very clear, his understanding was very profound, which fully reflected his joy and support, and reflected the voice of the older generation of intellectuals. The next day, the Liberation Daily published an article on the front page of Zhang Chengjun's interview with Elder Su.

Two days later, shortly after I arrived at the office, I heard The voice of Elder Su calling me, and I didn't know what was going on, so I hurried downstairs. I saw Elder Su open his brown briefcase, take out an envelope, and hand it to me: "I have written the words you want." I felt a burst of excitement in my heart, took it with both hands, and thanked him in a loud voice: "Thank you, thank you Elder Su." But he said: "It's not well written, no thanks." Turning and walking toward the principal's office building in one building. I couldn't wait to go back to the office, open the envelope, pull out the folded rice paper, stretch out the "history can't be finished for a long time..." I came into view, and my office colleagues also gathered around to see, saying, so rare, so rare.

In 1984, I left the Fudan Party Office and went to shanghai international hotel in May 1986. After Elder Su knew, when there was a banquet for foreign guests, he always asked the comrades of the school's foreign affairs office to arrange for the international hotel. Once in July, the banquet ended with foreign guests, Su Lao sent the guests to the elevator entrance, and the director of the external office accompanied him downstairs, and I sat with him. Elder Su admired Qi Baishi's four paintings of "Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter" on the wall of the banquet hall, and praised them one after another, "Good painting, good painting." "I said that our Fudan professors Su Lao, Zhou Gu Lao, Wu Lifu, Guo Shaoyu, Wang Yuchang and other gentlemen also have very good calligraphy and painting, and they have the charm and spirit of literati and scholars. The other people on the side also echoed in unison, Elder Su was also very happy, I somehow, on a whim, talked about the calligraphy ink treasure that Elder Su gave me a few years ago, and also recited two of them, Elder Su was even happier: "You like it, like it, write you another one when you have time." I even said "don't dare, don't dare", but in my heart I really can't ask for it.

After about a week, his secretary Wang Zengfan called and said, "Elder Su has written for you, and he wants me to hand it over to you." "I was overjoyed, and I couldn't wait to rush to Secretary Wang's house to retrieve Su Lao's calligraphy after work that day. Back at the home of fudan's first dormitory, I opened it without slowing down for a moment, admired it, and admired it, "Yingzhou East Looking at Simian..." Read it over and over again, trying to appreciate the artistic conception and feelings of Su Lao's poems...

With the transfer of work, the improvement of housing conditions, I also have a study of my own, I put Su Lao's calligraphy ink treasure mounted on the wall, always appreciate his calligraphy, read his poems, I also set the name of the study as "Qing Zhai", I understand, this is Su Lao in the name of "Qing Zhai to supplement the wall", silently warn me to be content with poverty, innocence, innocence and innocence. Yin Yin's affection jumped on the paper and filled the words between the lines, so that I would be taught all my life and dare not forget it for the rest of my life.

In 1977, when I was working in the Party Office of Fudan University, Mr. Xie became the vice president of Fudan University. At the beginning of 1983, Mr. Xie Xide took over as president of Su Lao, the first female president of a Chinese university.

I knew and contacted President Xie, also from the joint meeting of secretaries and principals of the school at that time. At the end of a meeting, I was standing by the door, and I was trying to say hello and goodbye to her, but she stopped and looked at me and said kindly: "Xiao Gu, you have worked hard." We had a half-day meeting, you recorded it for half a day, and your hands were sore. I replied instinctively without hesitation: not tired, not hard. Although her words were light and faint, a warm current in my heart was rising, overflowing, and warm. Looking at her slowly departing figure, I felt that she was so kind and loving, just like her own mother.

One Saturday afternoon, after the meeting, it was already dark, it was still raining, it was windy, and it was even more cold in the middle of winter. I was worried about how to get home, at that time my family lived near Zhongshan Park in Changning District, and my girlfriend's family lived in Dapu Bridge, and I had to change several buses wherever I went. I sorted through the documents on my desk while looking out the window. At this time, Principal Xie walked past the door of my office, stopped to call me, and I rushed to her side and asked, "Principal Xie, what is the matter?" "It's all right, so I asked you where to go back today, to your parents' house or to your future mother-in-law's house?" Come with me and take you home. I was both touched and grateful, and for a moment I was speechless, and before I could reply, Sheng Shanzhu, director of the party committee office next to me, also smiled thoughtfully and said, "Xiao Gu, don't be polite, go with Principal Xie." "So I don't delay any longer, happily pick up my bag, hurry downstairs, and get into the co-driver of the car parked at the door."

The car drove off, and I was still a little nervous in my heart, and I didn't know what to say. After a while, Principal Xie took the initiative to chat with me and asked me about my work and my family situation with concern. Unconsciously, my mood relaxed and was less restrained. The car crossed Siping Road, Wusong Road, to the Bund, turned into Yan'an Road, and when it was about to reach Ruijin Second Road, Principal Xie said to the driver Xiaosun: "Turn left in front, first go to Jianguo Road, let Comrade Xiao Gu get off first." I hurriedly said, "Send you first, send you first." "It doesn't matter, you come first, first served." Xiao Sun also smiled and echoed: "Listen to the principal." I thanked her again, and she said, "We're on the same road, by the way, and we'll go home together later." As soon as the car stopped on the side of the road, I quickly opened the door and got out of the car, propped up my umbrella, and waved goodbye. She also waved at me behind the window glass. Standing on the sidewalk on the side of the road, watching the car drive west, looking at the splash of water from the wheels, looking at the shadow of the car in the distance, the wind is blowing more and more, the rain is getting heavier and heavier, and my face is flowing with water, rain, and tears.

In the days that followed, after the meeting on Saturday afternoon, President Xie and Deputy Secretary Yuan Chengrui would jokingly care about me (Secretary Yuan's family lived in the staff dormitory of East China University of Political Science and Law, near Zhongshan Park), "Xiao Gu followed me to my mother-in-law's house today", "Xiao Gu, follow me back to my mother's house". Until I got a house in the eighth dormitory of Fudan, but as long as I went home to visit the elderly, I naturally hitched a ride with the two leaders.

It feels so good to "go home".

In August 1983, Secretary Sheng Hua left for retirement, and the organization department of the party committee arranged for me to participate in the tenth rotation training class for cadres in Shanghai held by the Party School of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and the Organization Department of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, which lasted for half a year, just after two months, I was loaned to the secretary group of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee Office, and after more than a year of work, after careful consideration, I decided to leave Fudan and work in the newly established Jinjiang Group. At the end of the year, after the formal decision, I went back to the school to handle the personnel transfer procedures and organizational relations, first to the front of the principal's office building, just in front of the president's office building, just in front of the face to see President Xie downstairs and go out, I hurriedly stopped to greet me, President Xie saw me immediately said, Comrade Xiao Gu, listen to the party office comrades said that you left Fudan, they all hope you come back, you still come back. The tone is still so kind, and the eyes are still so loving. I was really a little soft-hearted and heartbroken at that time, but at this point, I had to truthfully report that I had made a decision, and thanked her again for her care, and said that I would never forget Fudan's ten years of cultivation. Seeing that my decision had been made, she said seriously, and it seemed that she could only wish you all the best in your work in Jinjiang. Afraid of affecting her work, I smiled and thanked her to say goodbye, she held out her right hand, I clasped my hands tightly, and a warm current rose again. In the blessing of President Xie, I walked out of the school gate, left Fudan, and began a new life course!

In 1986, I became the manager of Shanghai International Hotel, and President Xie, like Su Lao, often put foreign affairs and official banquets here. Whenever President Xie came to the shop, I always waited at the door to greet him, after the banquet, personally accompanied by the elevator, downstairs, helped to the car, Principal Xie is always warm and encouraging, so I am encouraged.

From 1986 to 1995, as one of the heads of the administrative team of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, I completed the catering service work of the People's Congress. During this period, President Xie attended the meeting since he became the chairman of the CPPCC Municipal Committee in 1988. Whenever I saw her, she was always radiant, full of smiles, and hurried, she was even busier. Sometimes I came forward to say hello, and sometimes I had to look at it from a distance, not daring to disturb it easily. After 1993, I moved to Gao'an Road, and President Xie also moved to Wuxing Building at this time, across the road. Standing upstairs and looking west in front of the window of the house, you can clearly see the Wuxing Building. I seemed to see that in that building, under the window headlight, Principal Xie was busy in the case, and I often passed by the Wuxing Building, and I was afraid of disturbing it, and did not dare to make a visit.

Principal Xie has been away from us for many years, but her voice and smile, her benevolent heart, her noble sentiments, and her personality will always live forever and illuminate the world! (Gu Yongcai)
