A local drama genre native to Beijing
The past and present lives of Beijing opera
Beijing Opera, formerly known as Quyi Opera, developed from single-string brand music and northern folk tunes, is the only local opera genre that was born and developed in the land of Beijing. Beijing Opera was born in the early 1950s after the founding of New China, and was a new genre created by a generation of famous music artists represented by Wei Xikui, and in 1952, it was named "Beijing Opera" by Mr. Lao She.
People's Artist Lao She
The musical singing voice of Beijing opera is developed and created with a single string song card as the basic musical material, which is euphemistic and beautiful, while Daobai is based on Mandarin, with clear words, based on the unique sound, rhyme and tone of the Beijing language, highlighting the characteristics of the Beijing language and having a strong Beijing flavor.
The performance of Beijing opera does not have the stylization of traditional opera, and the performance is simple, the singing is clear, the rap is combined, and the rhythm is unique, which is a realistic performance style close to life.
