The monument to Mr. and Mrs. Zou Taofen was unveiled in Shanghai, and Mao Zedong once inscribed an elegy :"This is what makes him move people."

Today is the 126th anniversary of the birth of Zou Taofen, a famous journalist and publisher in China, and the birthday of his wife, Ms. Shen Chujin, on the same day of the same month. On the same day, the unveiling of the monument to Mr. and Mrs. Zou Taofen and The burial ceremony of Ms. Shen Puzhen was held in Shanghai Fushou Garden, attended by representatives of Zou Taofen, Shen Pujian's youngest daughter Zou Jiali and relatives, representatives of the China Welfare Association, Shanghai Taofen Memorial Hall, And Taofen Foundation Shanghai Office and other units.

In November 1936, the Kuomintang authorities arrested and imprisoned Shen Junru, Zhang Naiqi, Zou Taofen, Li Gongpu, Sha Qianli, Shi Liang, and Wang Zaoshi, leaders of the National Federation for the Salvation of the Nation, in Shanghai on charges of "endangering the Republic of China", known in history as the "Seven Gentlemen Incident". The monument of Mr. and Mrs. Zou Taofen and Mr. Shen Pujian is located in the Gentlemen's Garden of Shanghai Fushouyuan, next to the "Patriotic Seven Gentlemen" memorial group statue. The quaint Taishan stone is inlaid with color photos of Zou Taofen and Shen Pujian and his wife and the years of birth and death, and the rectangular black marble on the right is engraved with "Pushing Mother's Love to Love My Nation and People", which is the book written by Zou Taofen when he was imprisoned during the "Seven Gentlemen Incident", and it is also a spiritual portrayal of his lifelong pursuit.

In July 1944, Zou Taofen died of illness in Shanghai at the age of 50. After the news of Zou Taofen's death came out, various anti-Japanese democratic base areas under the leadership of the Communist Party of China held memorial meetings one after another to solemnly commemorate this outstanding political activist and journalist. In October 1944, Jiefang Ribao published a telegram of condolences from the CPC Central Committee to Zou Taofen's family, posthumously recognizing him as a member of the Communist Party of China and giving him extremely high praise and evaluation for his life and the cause he was engaged in.

Zou Taofen devoted his life to the pursuit of progress, light and truth, and successively founded more than ten kinds of progressive newspapers and periodicals such as "Life" Weekly, making contributions to the independence and liberation of the Chinese nation, to the spread of ideas on democratic politics, and to the progressive cultural undertakings of the masses of the people. Mao Zedong once wrote an elegy for Zou Taofen: "Loving the people, sincerely serving the people, bowing down to exhaustion, and dying after death, this is the spirit of Mr. Zou Taofen, this is what makes him move people." In Zou Taofen's revolutionary journey, His wife Shen Pujian always silently supported him.

At the ceremony site, 92-year-old Zou Jiali said that on the day of his parents' birth on the same day of the same month, the two were buried together, but the wish of the three brothers and sisters for many years was a happy day. She thanked the friends who came to the ceremony and gave the books she had compiled to promote the spirit of Taofen to the guests for their long-term efforts to inherit the spirit of Taofen.
