On October 27th, the recitation story of "Mother's Hands - Shao Da's Poems and Stories" will be held at the Qinhuai District Library in Nanjing.

Born in Daxu Town, Tongshan District, Xuzhou, the young poet Shao Da was diagnosed with progressive muscular atrophy at the age of 6 and basically lost his ability to breathe spontaneously at the age of 21. 24 hours a day, for a few seconds at a time, Shao Da's parents Shao Mingcai and Wang Xiuzhen used their hands as artificial ventilators, and more than 30 million compressions and auxiliary breathing in three years extended their son's life. On December 5, 2017, Shao Da died of pneumonia and other complications caused by cold and fever at the age of 27. Wang Xiuzhen, the mother, remembers her son's words before he died- "In case I can't do it, I must thank the people who helped me." So she embarked on the road of public welfare and repaid the community with love.

At the scene of the event, Wang Xiuzhen and Lin Xue, a Xuzhou media reporter who had followed and reported on this matter, respectively told the story of Shao Da's growth and embarking on the road of literature, and the audience at the scene had wet eyes, touched by the "mother's hands" to continue Shao Da's life, and even more moved by Shao Da's strong, optimistic and grateful heart after the illness.

Nanjing recitation enthusiasts deeply interpreted the literary works created by Shao Da in different periods, from Xu Song's early poetry work "Confusion" recited by Xu Song to Qu Peng's recitation of the warm work "Fei-Ai", Sun Qiang brought a warm prose "Mid-Autumn Festival" fragment, readers Wang Yumei and Shao Da traveled through time and space in their voices, and jointly interpreted the poem "Good People Live In Peace" to make people cry, Cao Weibao recited "Generous Mother Stingy Mother" and Gao Xiangsheng's recitation of the poem "Hope Unearthed Pain into the Earth" Show Shao Da's love for his mother and his attachment to life.
