At about 23:37 on April 17, he and his friend Chen Xichuan took a Sony camera to look for the foreground of the picture, and while composing the photo, a cloud in the sky caught their attention, "A white vertical bar cloud visible to the naked eye appeared on the side of the galaxy. "However, this phenomenon disappeared after only a few minutes.
At 0:38 on April 18, such a white vertical bar cloud appeared again, Chen Chen immediately moved the camera lens to the side of the Milky Way, and after 20 seconds of exposure through his Sony a7r2 camera, the picture that appeared on the screen made him instantly shocked: the vertical bar cloud of the original white sky appeared in 7 different colors under the camera shooting.
Subsequently, after he adjusted the brightness of this picture, he sent it to the "Chapa Chengdu Aerial Photography Alliance Group", and he did not expect that the group would boil at once. Some meteorologists told him that this phenomenon is a natural phenomenon called a cold night lamppost, which is very rare to appear, especially in southern China.
Coincidentally, on April 17 last year (2019), he accompanied his friend Chen Cheng to shoot the 2019 National Geographic Award-winning photography "King's Top Hat" in the Sichuan West Plateau, recording the white clouds forming a hat shape, like a miracle to crown Gongga. Chen Chen revealed that he was fortunate to be able to photograph such a natural wonder, but behind this seemingly accidental, there may also be an inevitability. In order to photograph these beautiful views, they often waited all night, waiting for the sunset and sunrise and the rise of the galaxy. The shooting in Black Rock City is also his fourth stop this year to shoot the Galactic Starry Sky, after he had already filmed in The Folding Mountain, Yaha Yakou, and Fisherman Xiqu Mogong. In addition to photographing the lampposts on a cold night, at about 4 a.m. on April 15, he also photographed the beauty of the "Eye of the Milky Way" at the Yaha Yakou, that is, the scene of the moon rising between the Arch Bridges of the Milky Way.
