When it comes to the famous mountains of Anhui, almost no one will ignore the Huangshan Mountains.
The return of the Five Mountains does not look at the mountain, and the return of the Yellow Mountains does not look at the Mountains. But the mountain I want to share with you today may not have been heard of or visited, but it is very worth exploring: Anhui Xianyu Mountain.
Xianyu Mountain is the western vein of the Yellow Mountain, and its main peak is 1376 meters above sea level, which is one of the four peaks in southern Anhui. This mountain spans the territory of Dongzhi County and Shitai County in Anhui, and is the junction of Dongzhi, Shitai and Qimen counties.
Although it is the western vein of Huangshan Mountain, it is completely different from the scenery of Huangshan Mountain. This mountain combines the natural attributes of the southern anhui mountains with the characteristics of the huipai in culture, and is known as the "place where the gods live". According to legend, there was also a strange celestial phenomenon of "seven fairies descending to mortals" here.
In Dongzhi County, the mountain is named "Nine Heavens Immortal Yu", and in the territory of Shitai, it is called "Xianyu Mountain". But whether it is to the east or to the stone platform, the beauty of this mountain has a certain unique charm and deeply attracts me.
The first time I drove Xianyu Mountain, along the mountain road, from the forest road to the top of the mountain, standing on the peak of the Xianyu Mountain of "one foot on three counties", the clouds in the forest, the momentum of "overlooking the mountains and small", I still remember.
Peaks, deep canyons, ancient roads, flowing springs and waterfalls, fog in the primeval forest, the sea of clouds under the sky, surrounded by mountains, suddenly understand why the locals claim that "this is the place where the immortals live", Xianyu Mountain is worthy of being a paradise wonderland for the world, is a good place to watch the sunrise, the sea of clouds, and the Light of the Buddha.
After a few years, revisiting the old place, this mountain is still full of scenery. Although it is not as famous as Huangshan, it is "little known" to give it a sense of secret.
In the ancient and towering primeval forest, there is an ancient emblem road of Qigenguan, which was founded in the Tang Dynasty, an ancient selenium-rich village, a colorful jade valley that is unique in the world, and the ancient Great Wall of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom period, the ancient battlefield, the Qing sightseeing tea garden with a historical name of more than 1,000 meters, the Tianfang selenium-rich sightseeing tea garden, and so on.
Among them, The Ancient Hui Dao seems to me to be the most mysterious and oldest secret place in Xianyu Mountain.
This is a throat fortress connecting Anqing and Huizhou Ancient Road, and is one of the most important ancient roads in China's history, with a total length of nearly 8 kilometers. First built in the Tang Dynasty, it was rebuilt in three years by Qing Jiaqing, and was the highest-grade "national highway" and transportation hub of that year.
Each stone slab on the trail is about 1.5 meters long, about 0.5 meters wide and about 0.1 meters thick. Thousands of years have passed, they have long been polished by the wind and rain of the years and the footsteps of pedestrians, smooth as jade, very dazzling in the sun.
About 30 meters down from the Pass of The Ridge is the famous strategic place of Beegan Pass, which has always been a place of contention for soldiers.
According to historical records, in order to seize this military fortress, there have been more than 10 large and small battles, the most famous of which is the battle between the Qing army and the Taiping army in this area. The existing Pass was built by Zeng Guofan to resist the Taiping Army, the city gate and the Stone Great Wall are made of bluestone slabs, and the total length of the Great Wall ruins is about 14 kilometers.
If you drive to Xianyu Mountain, it is recommended to take this section of the ancient road. This ancient trail winds around the mountains and passes through the deep mountains and dense forests, and is popular with outdoor hikers.
At the same time, Xianyu Mountain is also one of the birthplaces of "opera originator" and "living fossil of opera" and sitting singing; it is the popular place of Mulian opera, Emblem opera, Huangmei opera, mountain songs, and folk songs; it is also a sacred place of Buddhism and Taoism, and there are still many ancient temples and Taoist relics in the mountains.
There are also many ancient villages in the mountains, although not as famous as selenium-rich villages, but the simplicity, simplicity and unknown ancient stories of these villages have deeply attracted many explorers. When you chat with some long-lived elderly people in the mountains, you will find that their stories and the history of this place are like an ancient book.
This mountain, which has both natural scenery, original ecology and ancient culture, can be said to be one of the few eco-cultural tourism areas in southern Anhui.
And in order to maintain the pristine and ecological nature, to maintain the ancient culture in the long river of history left by the wear marks and imprints, Xianyu Mountain Scenic Area does not have a large tourism development, some cultural relics without the locals to lead, tourists simply can not find. The search for some monuments must also be deep into the mountains and forests, relying on hiking.
It is also like this that Xianyu Mountain deeply attracted me, and I still didn't feel addicted when I came twice.
