Compared with Yizhou Mu Liu Zhang and Jingzhou Mu Liu Biao, Yangzhou Mu Liu Xuan's sense of existence seems to be lower. However, if Liu Xuan can establish a party of power, there must still be talents to help. In Zi Yuan's view, there were three first-class talents under Liu Xuan's command, including a military general who had fought with Sun Ce, the "Little Overlord of Jiangdong", and it was difficult to distinguish between them; and there was also a member of the strategist, just by saying a word, which made Cao Cao's worth double.

This highly skilled general was the famous Tai Shi Ci. Before serving Sun Ce, Tai Shi Ci had listened to orders under Liu Xuan, a native of Tong county, and had also fought with Sun Ce during this period. According to the Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms, the Biography of Taishi Ci, "Ci fought in front of him and was facing the strategy." If you stab the horse, and if you get the mercy, you will also get the sword. The two families rode and rode separately, and disbanded. "The fierceness of Sun Ce, the "little overlord of Jiangdong", can be said to be known to the world, and Tai Shi Ci can not fall behind, which can also be seen that his bravery is abnormal. In addition, Tai Shi Ci's superb archery is also recorded in the main history.

However, what Tai Shi Ci is most praised by later generations is his noble character. Once, Tai Shi Ci returned to his hometown to visit his mother, and learned that Kong Rong, who was then the Minister of Beihai, took good care of his mother, so he remembered it. When Kong Rong was later besieged by the Yellow Turban Thieves, Tai Shi Ci took the initiative to ask for help, single-handedly broke out of the siege, and found reinforcements from Liu Bei in the plains, which was able to lead troops to help Kong Rong. Unfortunately, such talents are not reused at all under Liu Xuan.com. After Tai Shi Ci was captured by Sun Ce, he saw that the latter was thirsty for talent, so he resolutely joined the Jiangdong clique. After Liu Sui's illness and death in Yuzhang, Tai Shi Ci took the initiative to go to the rest of the party, and many people feared that he would take advantage of the opportunity to divide and establish himself, and as a result, Tai Shi Ci led Liu Sui's old troops back to Jiangdong within the agreed period. In this regard, Chen Shou praised Tai Shi Ci as "faithful and fierce, with the style of the ancients." ”

As for Liu Xuan's most powerful strategist, it was Undoubtedly Xu Shao. As we all know, during the Wei and Jin dynasties of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the selection of officials was mainly based on the inspection system, and if the children of ordinary families wanted to enter politics, they needed to get the evaluation and recommendation of some celebrities, so that they could go smoothly. Xu Shao and his brother Xu Jing were famous critics at that time, and the "Yuedan Review" hosted by them was the hottest appraisal event at that time. Cao Cao's path to fame also began here with Xu Shao. According to Pei's "Miscellaneous Sayings of Differences and Differences", Xu Shao's evaluation of Cao Cao was "a capable minister who ruled the world, and a traitor to a chaotic world", while the Later Han Shu Xu Shao's biography recorded that he was "a traitor of Qingping and a hero of a chaotic world." Whether it is a traitor or a hero, Xu Shao's comment undoubtedly points out that Cao Cao is absolutely beyond the reach of others. Since then, Cao Cao has doubled his value and embarked on the road to fame in the Central Plains.

In addition to Tai Shi Ci and Xu Shao, Liu Xuan also had a talent under him, this person was named Sun Ben, who was also a rare fierce general. Sun Ben was the son of Sun Jian's half-brother Sun Qiang, and initially followed his uncle Sun Jian. After Sun Jian's death, Sun Ben and Wu Jing welcomed Liu Sui to Qu'a (qu'a) (present-day Danyang, Jiangsu) and made him his duke, who was able to gain a foothold in Yangzhou. Unexpectedly, after Liu Xuan was appointed by the imperial court as the pastor of Yangzhou, he actually felt that Sun Ben was too much of a threat, so he drove him to Liyang to garrison. In the end, it was Sun Ce who led the troops to finally defeat Liu Xuan. Judging from the examples of Tai Shi Ci and Sun Ben, Liu Xuan seems to have a natural jealousy of martial generals, and this may be the reason for his ultimate failure.
