He is Luo Zenan, who is respected by posterity as the father of the Xiang Army, and everyone may be very strange, what is his life experience? Why should he have been the father of the famous Xiang Army, but he was unknown in history? And why are they called sweeping monks in the Xiang Army? Today we will talk about this confucian general of the Xiang Army, Luo Zenan.
Luo Zenan, zi Zhongyue, number Luo Shan. Jiaqing was born in the 12th year (1807) of Shuangfeng County, Hunan Province, and other farming families, his father and grandfather were hard-working and simple farmers who attached great importance to education. Because his ancestors did not have anyone who became officials by examination, his grandfather had great expectations for Luo Zenan, hoping that he would be able to shine on the lintel and revitalize the family when he grew up.
And Luo Zenan, who did show a talent for reading at a very young age, learned to make couplets at the age of 11, he saw that there was a pharmacy and a dyeing room next to his neighbors, and he wrote a couplet: Life is a family life, dyed into five-color articles. This association has both talent and thought, which is amazing and admirable, so the family has great hopes for him and fully supports him in his journey.
However, the life of the Luo family is relatively difficult, because the family is surrounded by disciples, and the Luo family is up and down, often eating the last meal without eating. But in this case, it is also more able to cultivate people's tenacity, and in this case, it strengthens his confidence to study ahead, and Luo Zenan's later sweeping monk "firm character" was learned in this kind of hard days.
What is even more tragic is that in addition to enduring material deprivation, in the spirit, Luo Zenan also suffered, wave after wave of tragic life baptism, in the ten years from 19 to 29 years old, the Luo family has ten relatives because the family is too poor, can not stand to die one after another, the deceased is gone, but the living people have to be prepared to taste the suffering of the death of their relatives.
Luo Zenan's "Lamentations of the Dead Nephew" wrote: Trance, confusion, is blood and tears, in the end can not be distinguished, whining pain, whining pain!
People who thought that growing up in such a life, hardships and hardships, Yuru Yucheng, should have a brilliant future, there will be a smooth and bright career! But fate played a joke on him again, from the age of 19 to take the boy test, he fought for the first time, until more than ten years later, 33-year-old Luo Zenan, won the first place in Changsha Province. And this is also his highest education, in his early years he has been famous for his confucian voice, can be described as the ultimate in his career, after experiencing such a bumpy life, Luo Zenan's determination to the world is more and more appreciated.
After 1853, Luo Zenan proved this with his life experience, and it turned out that in the past 40 years, he just took a wrong path that was not suitable for himself, and it turned out that what was really suitable for him was to be a Confucian general.
Luo Zenan, who threw his pen from Rong, seemed to be in the water, and he took the idea of rationalism as the guide and applied it to the management of the army, and achieved quite effective military achievements, once breaking thousands of Taiping troops with 300 people, and was directly promoted to tongzhi of Zhili Prefecture. Later, he was even famous with the famous Qing army general Taqibu who had been in the battlefield for a long time, and it was only a short year before he joined the army.
Moreover, he was also the first military scientist in China's military history to believe that it was necessary to strengthen the ideological education of the military, and his views were quite groundbreaking.
He also helped Zeng Guofan to do a lot of basic related work when he founded the Xiang Army, and improved the Xiang military camp system, among which Zeng Guofan's fundamental strategy of pacifying the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom was a basic trend laid by Luo Zenan that day, and it can be said that a large part of Zeng Guofan's victory later benefited from Luo Zenan, which was also the key to the existence of the sweeping monks in the Xiang Army, obscurity, but played a great help.
Such as the later famous generals of the Xiang Army, such as Wang Xin, Li Xubin, Li Xuyi, Zeng Guoquan, Zeng Guobao, and other cadres, all came from Luo Zenan's southern gate, claiming to be a great spectacle of leading soldiers in Chinese history, which was a beautiful identity that Zeng Guofan did not have.
Later, Qian Zhongshu's father, Qian Jibo, wrote in his evaluation of Luo Zenan: The people of Xiangxiang County, who conquered all over the eighteen provinces, had the strength of Luo Shan, and the Confucian generals were generals, and the scholars knew the soldiers, compared with their merits, they had never been seen in ancient times. It is also recorded in the Qing history manuscript: Zeng Guofan established the Xiang Army, and Luo Zenanshi was around it.
Unfortunately, Luo Zenan's highlight moment did not last long, in March 1856, Luo Ze led his troops to follow Hu Linyi to attack the Taiping Army in Wuchang, and in the melee, the flying cannon hit Luo Zenan's left forehead, so that the generation of generals had just shined, and they had suddenly fallen, and Tianshi was jealous.
On his deathbed, he wrote a sentence in his hand: Standing firmly when the pole is chaotic is a useful learning! In this way, we should warn all the sons of the Xiang Army, not to be afraid of soldiers in a chaotic world, and to abandon their pens and serve the country. At this time, it has only been three years since he threw his pen into the pen, and the glory of life is exactly these three years. Before he died, the hero was in tears, probably talking about a person like Luo Zenan.
Luo Zenan ran to the cruel battlefield with a scholar, in the sword, gun and sword, with actions to prove that his study of the world is not empty words, throwing away the swordsman's pen, holding the warrior's sword, the cannon fire in the sky, he really interpreted what is called a Confucian general, in obscurity, he quietly dressed up as a "soul" sweeping monk in the Xiang Army, not worried about no skills to survive, and worry about no skills to help the world, he not only did this, but also did a good job, bringing out a number of famous Confucian generals of the Xiang Army who were loyal to the country.
