Tianjin, October 29 (China News Network) -- On the evening of 28 October, the Tianjin Youth Peking Opera Troupe staged the "Zhang Pai" classic traditional play "Wangjiang Pavilion" at the China Theater, starring Zhao Xiujun, a disciple of Peking Opera master Mr. Zhang Junqiu and winner of the Plum Blossom Award.
This year marks the 101st anniversary of the birth of Peking Opera master Mr. Zhang Junqiu. As a landmark figure in the history of the development of Peking Opera Danjiao art, Zhang Junqiu pushed the art of Peking Opera Danjiao to another peak with excellent talent, solid skills cultivated by hard work, eclectic strengths and continuous innovation. He founded the first Danjiao genre art "Zhang Pai" after the birth of New China, which was widely circulated at home and abroad, and peach and plum were all over the world. Zhang Pai's representative plays "Wangjiang Pavilion", "Zhuangyuan Media", "Qin Xianglian", "Xi Xiangji" and other plays have not faded away, and have become classic plays with a high degree of singing.
In order to inherit and carry forward the precious artistic wealth left by Mr. Zhang Junqiu for the art of Peking Opera, the Tianjin Youth Peking Opera Troupe decided to stage two classic traditional plays of "Zhang Pai" at the China Theatre on October 28 and 29.
As a disciple of Mr. Zhang Junqiu, a master of Peking Opera, Zhao Xiujun is very strict in inheriting the art of "Zhang Pai", and each performance is maintained in the best condition according to the requirements of Mr. Zhang Junqiu and maintains the highest standard of artistic quality. This series of performances also includes: Shi Xiaoliang, a national first-class actor and winner of the Plum Blossom Award, Kang Jian, Sun Liying, Ma Liansheng, Yang Guang, Ji Peng, Liu Shujun, Sun Yusheng, etc., national first-class performers Zhu Jianzhong, Sun Wenqing and outstanding young performers joined in the performance to express their nostalgia and deep respect to Mr. Zhang Junqiu, a senior art master.
On October 29th, the China Theatre will also stage the classic traditional play "The Tale of the West Chamber", which is the culmination of Mr. Zhang Junqiu's decades of innovation. In the play, Cui Yingying's size singing section is nearly twenty songs, except for the slow plate, almost covering all the plate styles of the Danjiao singing cavity of Peking Opera, which is really unprecedented.
