8 October 2014 Honfleur Honfleur

The client's company, on the outskirts of Cholet, held a morning meeting and returned to the city center for lunch at noon. After lunch, I walked around the square in the city center with my clients and listened to her talk about Sholet's past, and the French were still very humorous. Depart in the afternoon and head straight for Honfleur.

Located close to Normandy, Honfleur is a beautiful seaside town with old architecture. The streets of the small town are narrow, with a slope of gravel pavement, and the requirements for driving level are still extremely high. We booked a homestay with a room with a fireplace and an exquisite little yard. Drop off your luggage and enjoy the warm sunshine on this warm afternoon with a cup of coffee.

Stepping out of the inn, the undulating road with the terrain is flanked by a variety of old houses and old walls, and the stone road has been trampled by the footsteps of time. Suddenly, there will be a large clump of green vines along the old wall on the side of the road with flowers. In the afternoon, the high walls will completely block the sunlight, some alleys are dark inside, and in some alleys, the sunset will illuminate the whole alley golden.

At the end of the alley is the harbor, where colorful cruise ships gather in the harbor, and the masts with sails are quietly erected like a forest. Several seagulls flew in between, or stopped on poles. There is an old church on the harbor side, built entirely of thick square wood. The sunlight through the glass windows dappled the church, full of fragments of light and shadow, and tourists and prayers flickered in the light. The ancient organ plays the Ode to the Virgin, and the music fills the entire wooden church, haunting it for a long time. Here, I seem to grasp the meaning of "aftersound around the beam".

Along the coastline, the sunset has set and we find a seafood restaurant. On the night of October, which has brought a hint of chill, the restaurant wraps up the outdoors with a tent, and then lights the kerosene heater, sitting next to it, a warmth. Of course, the order is the specialty of the restaurant--- mussels, mussels, pronounced very hard in English, if you switch to French, the tongue must turn a corner, and suddenly there is a delicious feeling. Southerners call mussels haihong or mussels, which may be the cheapest seafood bar in our place. In France, it is expensive, and the cooking method is completely different from boiling, with cream and white wine, and the aroma is fragrant. Open the first one, break it, cut the connection between the shell and the shell with the sharp edge of the shell, dip it in the soup, and swallow it. Then I used this shell as a tool until I finished eating the whole pot.

Full of wine and food, with memory, walked back to the residence along the crooked deep alley. Walking back to the shopping street near the harbor, the shops are long closed, and the little lights show the windows of each store. There are several shops that sell antiques, whether it is ancient crafts or daily necessities, in this small town, it seems to be everywhere. There are few people in the street, let alone noise, and occasionally a cat will pass silently through the street and disappear into the high wall. The bells of the church ring, no matter in which alley, are so thick and clear, the most beautiful feeling in the small town, in this patchwork of alleys.
