Be a strong-willed person
What exactly is the will? The will is a psychological term, and psychologists have found that it is neither a kind of flesh nor a separate ability of the mind, but only one of the tools we use to achieve the purposes of life. The dictionary explains that the will is a state of mind that arises from the determination to achieve a certain purpose, often expressed by words and actions.
A strong-willed person knows how to endure hard, to cope with difficulties, and not to be seduced by pleasure and profit. Weak-willed people, who know that not drinking alcohol is hygienic, but who cannot resist alcoholic beverages; who should try to actually work, dream of other trivial things; who cannot concentrate on formal life without a definite purpose in life.
What makes people strong-willed? What is it that makes people weak-willed? Why do people with weak wills spend time and make plans, but do not implement them? And strong-willed people, who don't have to have any determination, can do a good job?
Carnegie believed that human beings can be divided into two categories: "positive" and "negative". The positive ones, both physically and mentally, have matured and know that they have due obligations and responsibilities to society, and they belong to normal people. The opposite, although the physical aspect has grown up, but the spiritual aspect has not yet, always want to escape the obligation to avoid responsibility, they are mentally ill people. Mentally ill people are always weak-willed, while normal people are people with strong wills.
Carnegie added that those who are called weak-willed are actually more strong-willed than those who are called strong-willed. This may seem strange, but it is true.
A 6-year-old child, in his 6 years of life, everything has to be served by his parents, he himself is a helpless person. Until the age of 25, no matter what time or anything, as long as he is helpless, his parents, teachers and friends will come to help him solve the difficulties. After the age of 25, when he encountered difficulties, he was still helpless and helpless, so he was called a weak-willed and indecisive person. But is he really weak-willed? Carnegie said, no. Judging by the purpose of his private life, his will is not weak at all, for he has always been willing to be helped by men, has always lived on this help, and his will in this respect is very strong, but his will is used for the wrong purpose.
Carnegie said the will can be trained and changed. The tool used to transform a weak-willed person into a strong-willed person is common sense. If a weak-willed person can truly know his shortcomings, he will look for more difficult problems than usually imagined, take risks to solve them, and from then on become a truly strong-willed person. Of course, the circumstances and factors that caused his weakness of will also have to change.
People despise the weak-willed because they are really deceiving themselves, not only to deceive themselves, but also to harm others and to their own advantage. They want others to bear all the responsibilities, and they do not take any responsibility for themselves, and they want to enjoy the fruits of victory, even to compete for power and profit.
Carnegie said that there are no weak-willed people in human beings, only people with strong wills. A truly strong-willed person must take responsibility for his own responsibility to society. If you want to be a successful person, you must be a truly strong-willed person.
Now, please examine yourself: Is your will strong?
