Sister-in-law said: The old father worked in Hebei Radio station in his early years. In 1958, Tianjin was changed from a municipality directly under the central government to a municipality under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province and the capital of Hebei Province, and the People's Government of Hebei Province moved from Baoding City to Tianjin City. Hebei People's Radio merged with Tianjin People's Radio, collectively known as Hebei People's Radio, and officially broadcast in Tianjin. In 1960, after graduating from the Journalism Department of Chinese University, his father was assigned to the radio literary and artistic group as the leader of the group. At that time, Ma Ji, who was already a cross-talk actor in the Rap Group of the Central Broadcasting Literary and Labor Troupe, went to the radio station many times to record programs, and became familiar with his father and formed a friendship. In 1962, the old father was transferred back to his hometown of Wuqiang County for family reasons, and later served as the propaganda director of the Wuqiang County Party Committee. In 1965, Hebei Radio also moved back to Baoding, the capital of Hebei Province.

I remember that it was the summer of 1980, when cross-talk masters Ma Ji and Tang Jiezhong went to Wuqiang County for the first time to experience life and volunteer performances. Old friends get together and recall the past of working in Tianjin in the early years, and they are indispensable to tell each other about their families. Teacher Ma Ji was invited by his old father to his home to have a light meal to reminisce about the past. At that time, it was not fashionable to eat in restaurants, and guests generally came to eat at home. Teacher Ma Ji was very happy and quickly agreed to come down.

At that time, our family lived in Fuyang Hedong, Wuqiang County, behind the old auditorium, the county party committee family hospital, heard that Master Ma Ji was going to the family home as a guest, the whole family home neighbors were boiling, everyone helped to knead dumplings to cook. At that time, Mr. Hou Maji was already a well-known celebrity in the literary and art circles. At that time, there were still very few rural television sets, and there was no current heart-to-heart art troupe and sending literature and art to the countryside, people usually listened to Ma Ji's cross-talk on the radio, and it was a big new thing for artists to perform at the grassroots level. At noon that day, Teacher Ma Ji disregarded the fatigue of performing for several days and came to my house on time with Teacher Tang Jiezhong. I remember that when Teacher Ma Ji came, she was wearing an ordinary light blue T-shirt, that kind of sandals with bare feet and fingers, very ordinary light-colored summer sandals, and a warm smile. When I saw their very ordinary attire and very approachable expressions, everyone was very touched, and the whole family home gathered in my small courtyard to get close to Mr. Ma Ji, who kept nodding and greeting people. At that time, Ma Ji was eating and chatting in the house, and he and his father had some wine. The neighbors outside stood in the yard, and everyone rushed to watch through the window glass, crowded with water. At that time, my father said politely: "Wuqiang County is a poor place, and there is nothing to entertain." Teacher Ma Ji said, "It's delicious but dumplings, which is very good." The two recalled the previous events, Teacher Ma Ji nodded and pondered for a while, and when it came to happy things, Teacher Ma Ji smiled and bursts of laughter from time to time. After eating, people asked Teacher Ma Ji to have a cross-talk, and he and Teacher Tang Jiezhong immediately improvised to everyone for a short paragraph, making everyone lean forward and backward, and the laughter continued. When we were parting, Teacher Ma Ji proposed to take a group photo, and then our whole family took this group photo with the two masters on the side of the Fuyang River. I remember that night, Ma Ji and Teacher Tang Jiezhong performed in our county stadium, and the people in the nearby three townships and five miles heard the news and flocked to the wide stadium. The performance was full of people and laughter. Teacher Ma Ji also went to Pang Yan Village in Wuqiang County, Matou Commune, Wuqiang Painting Factory, Xiaofan Daji and other places to experience life and collect styles, and performed for the masses voluntarily. Everywhere they went, the people cheered as if they were celebrating the New Year, and the farm yards, rooftops, and trees were crowded with people watching the performances. In May 1983, Master Ma Ji and Tang Jiezhong came to Wuqiang for the second time, as well as Zhao Yan, Liu Wei, Feng Gong and other cross-talk actors, and enthusiastically performed two cross-talk performances for the urban and rural masses of Wuqiang.
