Chen Shubao, the lord of Chen Hou, the happiest king of the fallen country, was favored by Emperor Wen of Sui and worshipped by Emperor Jue of Sui

In 589 AD, this year was both the ninth year of the Sui Kai Emperor and the third year of The Emperor Zhenming of Chen Hou. The Sui Emperor Yang Jian led a large army into Jiankang (present-day Nanjing), the capital of the Southern Chen state, and the last emperor Chen Shubao was fished out of the well by Sui soldiers, and Southern Chen perished.

It also marked the unification of the country by the Sui Dynasty, ending a 273-year-long division since the fall of the Western Jin Dynasty.

Generally speaking, the outcome of the king of the fallen country is generally not good.

For example, at the end of the Qin Dynasty, several emperors and heavy courtiers killed each other in succession;

Li Yu, the lord of the Southern Tang Dynasty, was insulted by Zhao Kuangyin and killed by Zhao Guangyi poisoned and drunk;

The late Jin Emperor completed Yan Chenglin, and after reigning for less than an hour, he was killed by the rebel army;

The Chongzhen Emperor of the Ming Dynasty hanged himself in the Coal Mountain...

But Chen Shubao, which can be described as a blessing in misfortune, not only did Emperor Wen of Sui treat him with courtesy, but also made him live comfortably, and his quality of life was even higher than that of Emperor Wen of Sui.

After Chen Shubao was captured, Emperor Wen of Sui specially prepared a mansion for him, but it was not a dilapidated mansion that no one lived in, but a renovated, spacious and bright villa with transparent north and south, and a prosperous location. Except for not allowing him to be emperor, the general requirements were all met.

The house is not only free of water and electricity, but also equipped with a number of service personnel.

Yang Jian also often gives bonuses to Chen Shubao, although there is no serious reason, perhaps he is afraid that this "happy house" is not happy.

Nothing was still pulling him to open a party and eat together, and it was Yang Jian who paid the bill and ate all the way to Renshou Palace.

What is even more excessive is that Yang Jian will never allow the next person to play Wudi music, because he is afraid that Chen Shubao will be sad during the banquet...

Because the two often meet, they know each other better.

When Yang Jian heard that Chen Shubao was drunk to death, he was very worried about his body and wanted to persuade him to quit drinking. However, thinking about it again, I wanted someone else's Jiangshan, there was no wine, and Chen Shubao was in pain. Sighed, forget it.

Later, Yang Jian heard that Chen Shubao and his relatives also often gathered, and the degree of eating and drinking was better than him, and after thinking about it, he wanted someone else's Jiangshan, and then did not let him eat and drink well, chen Shubao was in pain. Sighed again, forget it.

Because Chen Shubao often attended Yang Jian's parties, he actually discussed one thing with Yang Jian: The old man and your large group of friends ate together, but I did not have an official position, it was not easy to introduce myself, and I could not say that I was the boss of Chen Guo. So, you canonize me...

Yang Jian estimated that he wanted to curse people in his heart, but when he thought of confiscating other people's Jiangshan, forget it, give it to the Three Pin Officials. This was not a petty official in the Sui Dynasty, and it was on a par with the boss of the six ministries!

In order to prevent the resurgence of Chen Shubao's relatives, Emperor Wen of Sui got all these big sons over.

Later, it was found that the number of people was too large, so they were placed in various states and counties. Every year, they will be given brand-name costumes, appeased, and told that they will not be killed.

Not only was Yang Jian good to Chen Shubao, Yang Jian's son Yang Guang, who was the later Sui Emperor, he also a bit admired Chen Shubao and liked his literary works very much...

Moreover, after Chen Shubao's death, Yang Guang also posthumously awarded him the title of Grand General and made him the Duke of Great Wall County. He was given the nickname: 炀.

However, Yang Guang may not have thought that like Chen Shubao, he later became the king of the subjugated country, and his nickname was also 炀. But the ending is not as happy as Chen Shubao, who is favored by Yang Jian and Yang Guangye.

In August 604, Emperor Yang Jian of Sui died, and Chen Shubao was still alive!

At this time, Chen Shubao had been a subjugated monarch for 15 years. Later, in November of the same year, Chen Shubao died of excessive drinking, at the age of 52.

Compared with Chen Baxian, the founding emperor of the Chen Dynasty, who was 57 years old, Emperor Wen of Chen 45, and Emperor Xuan of Chen at 53 years old, Chen Shubao did not die unexpectedly and early.
