I have eaten a lot of cold powder since I was a child, but I must be lonely and unheard of, I have never heard of any name, all of them are called cold powder. Recently, when I traveled to Chengdu, Sichuan Province, I saw the name of a kind of cool powder in a snack bar, and it was also a strange name, called "sad cold powder".
According to the store's introduction, it turned out to be a Hakka snack in Sichuan. Why is it called "sad cold powder"? There are two meanings:
First, it is said that during the Qing Dynasty, there was a group of Guangdong Hakka in Sichuan. They miss their hometown to make Guangdong Hakka cold powder to eat, naturally, Thinking is quite sad and worried, so they have this name.
Second, it is said that because to make this cold powder to put a very spicy pepper, when eating it is often spicy to the point of tears, people see it, and think that people who eat cold powder have something sad. Hence the name.
The shopkeeper says that making "sad cold powder" is very simple, mainly using soybeans and peas hand-processed and refined. Therefore, it is also divided into two types: one is beige cold powder mainly made of soybeans, and the other is white cold powder mainly made of peas. However, its condiments are relatively rich, about 13 kinds of red oil, chili oil, ginger garlic, green onions, etc., in the snack bar, each price is only sold for a few yuan. Anyone who has eaten it knows that the taste of cold powder is smooth, soft and crisp. It is said that the cold powder does not add any chemicals and is also very nutritious. Therefore, this snack has been popular for more than a hundred years.
