Shaoguan City's imports and exports increased by nearly 30% in the first three quarters, and the growth rate exceeded the provincial and national levels

According to the latest data from Shaoguan Customs, the total value of import and export foreign trade in Shaoguan City in the first three quarters of this year reached 16.34 billion yuan, an increase of 29.5% over the same period last year, of which imports were 10.15 billion yuan, an increase of 29.3%, exports were 6.19 billion yuan, an increase of 29.8%, and the three indicators exceeded the provincial average by more than 10 percentage points and exceeded the national average by more than 6 percentage points.

In the first three quarters, the import and export of general trade in Shaoguan City was 12.18 billion yuan, an increase of 32.8%, and the import and export of processing trade was 3.99 billion yuan, an increase of 18.1%. The top three trading partners were Australia, Brazil and the United States, with trade volume of 4.81 billion yuan, 1.67 billion yuan and 1.44 billion yuan, an increase of 19.7%, 32.1% and 49.3%. Shaoguan's main export commodities are mechanical and electrical products and toys, exporting 2.87 billion yuan and 980 million yuan respectively, accounting for 46.3% and 14.3%, and the main import commodities are iron ore, with imports of 5.977 million tons and a value of 6.97 billion yuan, an increase of 48.1%.

Since the beginning of this year, Shaoguan Customs has taken the practical activity of "I do practical things for the masses" as an opportunity to continuously deepen the cross-border trade facilitation work through a series of measures. Carry out "door-to-door counseling" to solve the problems encountered in the customs clearance process for enterprises one-on-one; continue to compress customs clearance time, guide enterprises to use "advance declaration" and "two-step declaration", and the overall customs clearance time in Shaoguan area is maintained within 5 hours of import and 1 hour for export, respectively; actively promote the self-service printing reform of certificates of origin, combined with intelligent audit mode, to achieve "second batch" of certificates of origin, which greatly saves the processing time of export enterprises.

"Thanks to the strong recovery of Shaoguan imports and exports in the first three quarters, the overall foreign trade in the whole year is expected to maintain more than 20% growth." The relevant person in charge of the Comprehensive Business Section of Shaoguan Customs pointed out that "at the same time, the unfavorable factors in foreign trade cannot be ignored, such as the lack of space and containers in shipping, and the repeated impact of foreign epidemics on order stability."
