Lingchuan is an old revolutionary area and a red land with glorious revolutionary traditions.

In the 100 years under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the 1,751 square kilometers of ancient tombs have not only left many precious revolutionary sites, but also passed on countless red stories. Looking back at the magnificent century-old history, the old revolutionary area will always be an admirable monument and a majestic force that urges people to forge ahead.

In order to greet the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the Propaganda Department of the Lingchuan County CPC Committee, the Party History Research Office of the County CPC Committee, the Cyberspace Office of the County CPC Committee, and the Lingchuan County Rong Media Center jointly launched the column "A Hundred Years of Inheritance of Red Lingchuan" to focus on telling the vast number of netizens about the red marks left by the people in the old area of Lingchuan after revolutionary struggle. I hope that everyone will draw and inherit the red gene and spiritual strength from it, always hold high the banner of the spirit of the old district, not forget the original heart, continue to inherit it, and let the spirit of the old district be passed on from generation to generation.

Today we want to tell the story of the revolutionary hero Ren Yihan.

Ren Yihan, the hero of the War of Resistance, kept the last bullet to himself

Ren Yihan

Ren Yihan (1917-1945), a native of Qinzhai (present-day Yihan) village in Lingchuan County. The family has been a farmer for generations, and the family has been poor since childhood. After entering the business world, after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, he began to accept revolutionary ideas and participated in revolutionary work. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1938.

After joining the Communist Party of China, he successively served as the secretary of the village youth rescue association and a member of the Lingchuan County Youth Rescue Association. He led the youth of the whole county to participate in the "anti-division" struggle.

After the "December Incident", he went north with the army and served as the secretary of the Pingshun Youth Rescue Association and the chairman of the District Anti-Corruption Federation. In 1943, he was ordered to open up the work behind the enemy lines in Lingchuan, and he and other revolutionary comrades organized the Huling guerrillas to carry out the struggle against the enemy, and later transferred to the first district of Lingchuan County.

Outstanding contributions were made in the establishment of anti-Japanese local armed forces and in the fight against the Japanese invading army. Especially when he was the governor of the first district, he ran around day and night, and circled the enemy all day. At the end of 1944, Ren Yihan was ordered to coordinate with the anti-Japanese armed forces to carry out a political offensive against the enemy. In difficult war environments, he often worked around the clock.

In February 1945, he passed through the village due to illness and stayed overnight, and was discovered by the traitor Han Tethered Fans to secretly inform the Japanese, and the enemy and the four districts of the enemy and the pseudo-four districts, Changtian Yongqing, led more than 100 people to surround the courtyard of Ren Yihan in Qinzhai Village, shouting and luring them down.

Ren Yihan resolutely replied, "Traitors, don't be crazy! Your time of death is at hand, and Chinese people must settle the ledger with you!" Seeing that the lure was ineffective, the enemy attacked the courtyard.

Ren Yihan calmly responded to the battle and killed three enemy puppet soldiers with a pistol. As a result, when the bullets were exhausted, he resolutely committed suicide, and before he died, he shouted: "Long live the Chinese nation!" Long live the Communist Party of China!". After liberation, Qinzhai Village was changed to Yihan Village as a memorial.

Hats off to the heroes!
