Nostalgia Atlas Series 〖2〗Qinglong Town Village, Houcun Township, Yangqu County, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province

Qinglong Town Village is located 15 kilometers north of Taiyuan next to the Dayun Highway, east of the North Tongpu Railway, west of the Dayun Expressway, south of the Jiancaoping District. The village has a long history, and during the Jiaqing period, it was a well-known military town, a trading market town and an old farming town in North China. The total area of the village is 10,299 mu, with jurisdiction over 3 natural villages, 6 villager groups, and a total population of 2,054 people.

Since the Han Dynasty, this has always been a place of contention for soldiers, for more than a thousand years, the residents of the ancient town to avoid the disaster of the blade, built underground passages under the houses and connected with each other, built caves in the lonely fort 3 miles away from the village, and established a complete set of civil fortifications. After liberation, the military utility of Qinglong Town deteriorated, and the ancient town became increasingly dilapidated and declined.

　 In that year, before the opening of the Dayun Road, Qinglong Town was a necessary ancient road for north-south traffic. In peacetime, shops were opened on both sides of the ancient street, and there were countless grain stores with storefronts. On the street, there used to be 5 pavilions (buildings with pavilions above and caves below). As soon as there was a battle, the cave gate was closed, and the road between the north and south was cut off. Unfortunately, today, only 1 of these 5 pavilion caves is left on the south side of the road, which is about 3 wide from east to west, 10 meters deep, two-story brick and wood structure, and 3 wooden attics built on it. Gedong is a full 50 miles away from the arch gate in Taiyuan, and the city gate has been damaged, the wall has been peeled off, and the ancient bricks have been seriously weathered.

All the families in the village have a "back door" to communicate, and the perennial war has made the residents of Qinglong Town have a strong sense of prevention for generations, and every household has built tunnels under the houses. The house where the old man Ma Xiumei lived, the tunnel is still well preserved.

The most breathtaking thing about Qinglong Town is the Ming Dynasty Lonely Fort located in huali, 3 miles west of the village. In many major disturbances, these isolated forts have brilliantly fulfilled the important mission of protecting the lives and property of the whole village. At the foot of the Tushan Mountain, where the Lone Fort is located. Tushan is surrounded by ditches on all sides, the mountain wall is steep, looking up from below, there is no place to climb, and several large openings on the mountain that are tens of meters high are all filled with artificial earthen walls. On the top of the hill, you can see the artificial earthen city wall. At the foot of the mountain, there is a passage dug out of the mountain that leads directly to the top of the lone fort, and there is an iron gate at the entrance, which is guarded by special personnel. In addition, it is no longer possible to enter the lonely fort and enter the top of the mountain, and there is a sudden feeling of enlightenment. The top of the mountain is open, with a radius of more than 20 acres, according to the height of the terrain, the earth caves are dug in 3 layers, the first layer has 12 caves, the second layer has 19 caves, and the third layer has 34 caves. Many of these earthen kilns have collapsed. A half-collapsed cave found that the earthen kilns, which looked unrelated from the outside, were actually interconnected. There are also small holes in the cave walls for candles. In another cave dwelling, there is a small traditional script with half a wall neatly arranged. Looking closer, it turned out to be the words on the wallpaper, the paper had been weathered, but the words were left on the wall. In the lonely fort, you can see tiles, urns and other traces of ancient people's life everywhere. Surprisingly, the reporter also found a deep well with a hole in the wall. According to old legend, this cave is the entrance to the tunnel by the well, leading to the back hill of the Lone Fort.

On the walls of the Lone Fort, there are many cobblestones of different sizes. Obviously, this is the "weapon" that the ancients specially transported to the earth mountain to attack the people who attacked the fort. In 1937, the Japanese invaded China, and the men, women and children of Qinglong Town fled into the LoneLy Fort. At that time, the old man Liu Jie was only 6 years old, and he also entered the lonely fort with his family. When the Japanese entered qinglong town, the whole village was empty and felt inexplicable. One day, the Japanese discovered that there were people in the isolated fort, sent planes to bomb, and people drilled into deeper tunnels with few casualties. In order to escape the war, five or six hundred villagers lived on the lone fort for more than a year. During the Liberation War, the villagers came to the isolated fort to take refuge, and it is not clear when they were liberated. It was not until some soldiers entered the fort to persuade the villagers to return to live in the village. After liberation, the military utility of Qinglong Town gradually deteriorated, the ancient town became increasingly dilapidated, and with the large amount of destruction during the "Cultural Revolution", many cultural relics and monuments no longer existed. In 1988, the Yangqu County government put forward the idea of restoring the style of the ancient town.

The long history, thick culture and rich life have built a unique style of Qinglong Town Village. Qinglong Ancient Town will become a historical and cultural town integrating folk sightseeing and leisure, integrating natural ecology and agricultural activities, and integrating cultural gardens and merchant treasures, and Qinglong Town Village will also become a bright pearl on the land of Yangqu.
