His life was extremely poor, and later he succeeded Emperor Yao and became the Son of Heaven of China, with the name of the country called Yu, and after his death, his descendants added him the title of Shun.
Shun's life when he was young was already extremely poor, and his fate was also extremely unfortunate. Shun's father was a man who knew nothing of miscreants, and was called a blind man, thinking that although he had eyes, he was like a blind man. Shun's mother died early, and his father married a stepwife, and his fate was even more unfortunate, because his stepmother gave birth to a son, named Elephant, and his father and stepmother loved Elephant and hated Shun to the extreme. When the elephant had grown up, the elephant helped his parents to abuse him, and often told his parents about Shun's disadvantages, so that his parents regarded Shun as a thorn in his eye; although Shun's obedience to his parents in every way, he could not win the favor of his parents, so he often went out into the wild and cried loudly to the sky.
Shun's situation was so difficult, but because of his filial piety to his parents and his loyalty to others, his reputation rose day by day.
At this time, Emperor Yao was old and wanted to find a virtuous person to replace him as the Son of Heaven, and when he heard that Shun's reputation was very good, he made his two daughters, one called Emperor E, the other a female Ying, and made Shun's wife, and made his nine sons live with Shun, so as to see how Shun treated internal and external affairs. After Emperor E and Lady Ying married Shun, they were inspired by Shun, and they never dared to think that they were the daughters of the Son of Heaven, and with a little pride, they were nine boys, and they were also assimilated, more honest than before. Emperor Yao was very happy, so he prepared new clothes and a seven-stringed violin to reward Shun, and also ordered someone to build a warehouse for Shun, and gave some cattle and sheep, and Shun's life was really abundant from then on.
Husband and wife and Xiangmi Shun lived such a comfortable life, and their hearts were very impatient, and their jealous and angry thoughts burned like a fierce fire, so they did not hesitate to use a vicious means to deal with Shun.
One day, He said to Shun, "If the barn is broken, you must paint it with mud, so that the rats will not steal the grain." Shun replied, "Yes." ”
That night, Shun told Emperor E and Lady Ying about this, and said, "I'm going to repair Cangmiao tomorrow." The clever Empress Dowager and Lady Ying immediately saw the meaning of The Emperor and the Empress dowager to make Shun repair the cangxiao, so they said to Shun: "If you repair the cangxiao on it, you must prevent them from setting fire to it below, and if you can learn the flight of birds, there is no danger." That night, Shun, Emperor E, and Nu Yinggong studied the method of flying.
The next day, Shun was ready, and took the mud and shovel and other parts to repair the warehouse. He also prepared thatch and other things first, piled them up below, and when Shun was repairing the barn on top, he set fire to the bottom, and when the fire was raging, he saw that Shun was about to be burned to death. But Shun had already anticipated that this would happen, so he studied the method of flying, saw the fire soaring into the sky, cut off the way back, and then put the two umbrellas he had prepared first, one with one under his armpit, and learned to fly like a bird, taking advantage of the situation to fly down, and sure enough, he fell gently on the ground without being damaged in the slightest.
The elephant said to Shu Shu, "Father, your plan is not good, he can jump down, so cure him from death." He said, "What good plan do you have?" Xiang Hui said: "The warehouse is surrounded by a way out, so it is easy to escape, if you lead him to the ground, there is no way to escape, next time you can order him to wash the filth in the well, we plug the wellhead on it, then are you afraid that he will not die?" He praised, "Your plan is very good." After a long time, He ordered Shun to wash the filth from the well. Shun was a person who had always been obedient to his parents, and he knew that his father's intentions were not good, and he could not refuse to allow it, so he discussed with Emperor E and Nüying how to deal with it. Emperor Eun and Lady Yingjiao shun opened a tunnel next to the well and connected it with another well, so that they could enter from this wellhead and come out from another wellhead. Shun hurriedly prepared and secretly opened a tunnel, and no one knew about it except his two wives.
On this day, Shun obeyed his father's order and went into the well to wash filth. Thinking that the opportunity had come, He Shu and Xiang Were busy picking up a lot of dirt and stuffing it into the well, sealing a wellhead firmly and firmly, and Shun's news was gone. Thinking that Shun must be dead, he said happily: "It is all my credit for killing my brother this time, my brother's cattle, sheep and barn should belong to my parents, my brother's piano should be distributed to me, and the two sisters-in-law should live with me and be my wife." As he spoke, he walked to Shun's room to get the violin. Unexpectedly, when Shun picked up the well, he had already slipped out of the other wellhead and returned to his room. Waiting as if he had walked into Shun's room, he saw Shun sitting on the bed and playing the piano, so he was horrified and ashamed, so he was so anxious that he could not speak, and he said to Shun, "I miss you very much, and I come to see you." Shun didn't move, as if there was no such thing, and calmly replied, "I have a lot of things, and I am looking forward to you to help me." ”
From then on, Emperor Yao fully knew that Shun was a loyal and filial person, so he ordered him to be an official in charge of education, and all the people were influenced by Shun, and they could fulfill the duties of human children. Later, Shun became an official in handling diplomacy, and foreign countries from afar also admired Shun's virtues and came to obey. Shun's achievements were so good, Emperor Yao was too old to do things, so he ordered Shun to act on behalf of the Heavenly Son and retire himself. After twenty-eight years, Emperor Yao died, and Shun practiced to become the Son of Heaven of China, governing one China in an orderly manner and the people were happy, so history praised it very much, and was praised as "the world of Yao Shun".
After Shun became the Son of Heaven, he still served the Emperor respectfully, still loved the object, and was also crowned as a prince of the Kingdom of Yu. He was able to be such a filial friend and not remember the old grudges, so posterity called Shun a great filial piety.
