Yue Fei was a famous general of the Southern Song Dynasty, and many poems were written during his career as a horseman. It is very precious to pass it on to this day. Today, we study his sixth poem, "Title Ma Gang", and feel the heroism of his past.

[ Song ] Yue Fei
Li Lingang opened his eyes, and a stream opened in the clouds.
Ji Shu Shui Shui Yu Chuan Jin, Huang Xiu Palace Court Mercy Zhou.
The southern service is only now annihilating the clown, and the northern one will return to Shenzhou on the other day.
He swore to reward the seven feet of the Holy One, and angrily pointed out that the end of the world would not receive tears.
When I tried to translate the poem, I found that there was still no translation to refer to, and I searched countless web pages, only notes.
So, I tried again and boldly translated a version:
Tie the horses to The Sudden Ma Gang (in present-day Jiangxi) next to the forest, and look at the battlefield under the hill with your eyes wide open.
A cloud was suddenly blown open by the wind, and a small stream was seen at the opening.
The water 碓 (duì) used for rice in the south can be spread to Shanxi in the north, and the rice is luxuriant in the court, who pities it in fact from the Western Zhou?
Now that the South is about to suppress the peasant uprising, (and I think) when will it be possible to regain the lost lands in the North?
I swore that I was determined to sacrifice my life to go to the country, and angrily pointed to the occupied areas in the north, and if I could not recover the lost land, I was afraid that I would not be able to collect this tear! (It must be a ripple of grief to tears)
This poem is the most difficult to translate of yue fei's six poems I have shared. Among them, "Ji Shu Shui Shui Yu Chuan Jin, Huang Xiu Palace Court Mercy Week" is a metaphor, not the original intention. I read it silently hundreds of times, and went through all the notes and historical records that could be found. I reluctantly translated it, but it didn't necessarily feel right.
There is also the last sentence, "Angry fingers and tears at the end of the world", written very heroically! Repeatedly reading this poem, repeating and repeating, speculating on Yue Fei's state of mind at that time, but could not find the right words to translate, deeply ashamed! Even if it is translated, it feels that it is no longer the "taste". This is also the charm of "poetry". Because, apart from those few words, no other word can better express it.
This poem was written when Yue Fei was thirty years old, and the feeling of being energetic and waving back was touching.
I appreciate this straightforward way of expressing myself. A sentence of "angry fingers to the end of the world and tears" seems to let me see a man with a temperament, a hot-blooded man! Dare to love and dare to hate, dare to express anger, rather than hiding it. I love this personality, bright, atmospheric, and domineering!
"Nanfu only annihilates the clown, and the northern one returns to Shenzhou", this sentence is said to be writing that Yue Fei did not perform the task given to him by the imperial court, and sent troops to suppress the people, and in his eyes, this is the same behavior as a clown. The enemy who occupies the land is not allowed to fight, but engages in civil war. Apparently, he was dismissive and very angry. He loves his country, and every inch of the mountains and rivers cannot be lost. Therefore, he had in mind that one day, he would be able to lead the Yue family army, swing the Northern Expedition, recover the lost land, and say domineeringly to the Jin army that invaded the territory of the Great Song Dynasty: "Return my mountains and rivers!"!
However, there is no chance!
He could appreciate yue Fei, as a general of a country, the heavy responsibility of defending his family and the country he himself shouldered. He felt that it was his responsibility to recover the lost land, but he could not fulfill his duties, and there were countless regrets and indignations in his heart. But there is nothing to do!
A generation of famous generals, but in the end they were framed by traitors, which made people sigh! At the time of his death, Yue Fei was only 39 years old. However, he has left the patriotic spirit of "being loyal to the country" for the people of the world, the national integrity of "returning my rivers and mountains", and those brilliant poems.
