Most of Zhang Xian's poetry works reflect the love of men and women under the moon before the flower, and the "Ancient and Modern Poetry" records that a guest said to Zhang Xian: "Everyone says that Mr. Zhang Sanzhong is called Zhang Sanzhong, that is, the things in the heart, the tears in the eyes, and the people in the heart!" ”
Zhang Xian said disapprovingly, "Why don't you call me Zhang Sanying?" The guests were inexplicably confused, Zhang Xian explained: "'The clouds break the moon to make flowers and shadows', 'delicate and lazy, curtains roll up the flower shadows', 'the willow path is unmanned, and the fallen silk flies without shadows', these three sentences are the proud works of my life." ”
After that, "the world called it 'Zhang Sanying'", so Zhang Xian added a nickname - "Zhang Sanying".
Zhang Xian's affair is famous, according to legend, when he was young, he lived in Luoyang City and secretly befriended a little nun in Qingyun Nunnery, and the old nun in the nunnery was extremely severe, and after learning of this, he locked the little nun in the attic of the pool.
In order to meet the little nun, Zhang Xian rowed a boat to the attic at night, the little nun put down the ladder, led Zhang Xian upstairs, and was noticed by the old nun again, after that, the two had to break up, Zhang Xian and the little nun were inseparable, so they were forced to say goodbye after chanting "A Bunch of Flowers".
Zhang Xian's life can be said to have enjoyed all the glory and wealth, and poetry and lyrics, drinking and traveling, and male and female love have become the whole content of his later life. When Zhang Xian was eighty years old, he married an eighteen-year-old girl as a concubine, and the age difference between the two was exactly sixty years.
At the family banquet, Lao Zhang gladly gave a poem: "I am eighty qing eighteen, qing is red face, my white hair." With Qing Upside Down Ben Tonggeng, only a flower armor in the middle. ”
When Su Shi learned of this, he wrote a poem ridiculing Lao Zhang: "Eighteen brides and eighty langs, pale hair on red makeup." Mandarin ducks are lined up in double nights, and a tree of pear blossoms presses begonias. ”
In the following eight years of married life, this concubine gave birth to two sons and two daughters for Lao Zhang.

During Zhang Xian's stay in Hangzhou, he had many contacts with official prostitutes, during which he gave poetry inscriptions, and he was very busy.
Zhang Xian ignored a beautiful woman named Long Liang, and after Zhang Xian found out, he changed his mistake, so he inscribed a poem for Long Liang: "The heavens and the Qunfang are like a thousand, and the color alone cannot be exaggerated." Peony peony medicine people are full of questions, and they are like drum flowers. ”
One of Su Shi's poems, "Zhang Ziye Plays the Qin Prostitute", one of the poems "Ten Miscellaneous Books and Piano Affairs", in the preface of the poem, it is recorded: "Shang ShuLang Zhang Xianziye, a native of Hangzhou. Good at bantering and flavorful. Seeing that there were piano players in Hangzhou, he suddenly stroked his palm and said, "Strange, when this kite is not seen, Neil is black and thin?" ’”

After Zhang Xian was more than eighty years old, he was still deaf and energetic, and in addition to his wives and concubines, he also raised some beautiful singers and prostitutes.
When Zhang Xian was eighty-five years old, he took another room of concubines, and Su Shi described it in the poem "Zhang Ziye Nian Eighty-Five Shangwen Buying Concubines to Write Poems about Gu Ling": "Mr. Jinli laughed at himself and did not deceive nine feet of sideburns. The poet is old and the warbler is there, and the prince returns to Yan Yan busy", which can be described as a true portrayal of Zhang Xian's later life.
