On April 28, local time, U.S. federal law enforcement officers raided two New York residences of former New York Mayor Giuliani. The incident caused an uproar in the United States.

Giuliani served as mayor of New York for 8 years and rose to fame for his high exposure after 9/11. Like many U.S. politicians, he has a strong legal background and has served as a federal prosecutor.

His current best-known label is "Trump's Personal Lawyer."

Afterwards, Giuliani stood at the door of his father's apartment to give an interview to the media. He accused the move of being an "obvious act of political interference in the administration of justice" that must be "ended immediately."

Giuliani's lawyer, Costello, sneered at the "uninvited guests" and said fiercely, "They claim to go door-to-door to enforce the law, but they seem to deliberately ignore the room where there may be evidence that someone has violated the law."

He was apparently referring to the room where a hard drive was placed, allegedly "identical" to the one the FBI had previously found at a computer repair shop in Delaware. Sources say the drive stores a lot of evidence against Hunter Biden, the son of incumbent President Biden.

Hunter Biden previously served as a director of The Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, earning $50,000 a month. During the campaign, Trump grabbed this "pigtail" and chased after him.

Giuliani and Costello said that in addition to the hard drive, all the other electronic devices that could be found in that apartment had been turned upside down.

The "encirclement" against Giuliani is constantly tightening

In fact, Giuliani's complaints are somewhat "understatement." After all, it was he and the Trump team who first played "disobedience to the house" on the "Ukrainian Gate".

In 2019, when the Trump team discovered the "flaw" of Biden's father and son, they immediately sent people to Ukraine secretly to try to dig out the "strong material" of Biden's illegal behavior in Ukraine in 2015 (planning to remove the Ukrainian prosecutor in the case) in order to protect his son.

The Trump administration is also suspected of deliberately delaying U.S. military aid to Ukraine in order to blackmail the Ukrainian government into complying.

According to reports, Trump and others did not hesitate to "set up a situation" for the then US ambassador to Ukraine, Jovanovich. Giuliani is credited with playing a key role in the matter.

But Trump and Giuliani were self-defeating: During the election campaign, the "Ukraine Gate" did not succeed in "smearing Biden", but Trump and others blackmailed the Ukrainian government against domestic political enemies, but they helped his election.

Since the dust settled, the FBI has made several attempts to raid Giuliani's apartment. But because Giuliani has so far not been prosecuted, this attempt has never succeeded.

The more critical reason is that until January 20, 2021, the federal attorney general will still be Barr appointed by Trump. Don't forget, Barr publicly claimed until the last minute that "the election results were wrong" and insisted on launching a "litigation guerrilla war", which is one of the very few Trump die-hard loyalists.

Cohen, a former trump personal lawyer who was dumped by Trump for messing up the "Russia Gate," said Giuliani would be "the next person to be kicked off the bus."

But Trump didn't. As late as April 29, Trump publicly defended Giuliani, saying the "raiders" were unfair to this "great patriot."

However, the "encirclement" against Giuliani has been tightening: In the second half of last year, Parnas and Fruman, who accompanied Giuliani to Ukraine, were indicted for "alleged violations of the Federal Elections Act (FECA)"; earlier, the US Federal Treasury Department approved of the allegations of "election interference" against four Ukrainians suspected of being involved in the case.

Risky gambles

For now, many members of the judiciary do not agree with the easy search operation against Giuliani.

This is not only because these actions were "against custom" before the indictment, but also because Giuliani himself is a federal prosecutor and runs a law firm.

In this regard, garland, the new democratic attorney general and attorney general, believes that the time has finally come to "take a risk" against all odds, and many anti-Trump people are looking forward to this day.

But whichever side you take, the move is a big gamble.

The problem is that once the door-to-door search does not get the evidence it wants, but is bitten back by Giuliani, who has rich judicial experience, the trouble is great.

To make Trump angry and to make Biden embarrassed, it is likely that the final plot of this matter will go.
