Beijing Renyi New Platoon "Thunderstorm" premiered, Pu Cunxin: This is a study work reported to Mr. Cao Yu

In the backstage dressing room of Cao Yu Theater in Beijing Renyi International Drama Center, there is still an hour before the premiere of the new row of "Thunderstorm", Pu Cunxin asked the makeup artist to hang his eyes upwards again, "so that Zhou Puyuan is more powerful", and Gong Lijun, who plays Lu Ma, specially wore an orange coat in the play, "Before the premiere of the new play, I will wear a little happy, this orange represents success..." In the backstage corridor, the cake celebrating the premiere has been snatched up by everyone, while tasting the sweetness of the cake, While waiting for the premiere moment to arrive.

September 24 is the 111th anniversary of Cao Yu's birth, and the new row of "Thunderstorm" chose to premiere on this day, precisely to pay tribute to Mr. Cao Yu. Pu Cunxin said: "This is a study to report to Mr. Cao Yu and to the audience. ”

Before the performance, Pu Cunxin said that he was doing ordinary things with a normal heart at the moment, after all, he had already acted so many plays. Gong Lijun, who has acted in "Thunderstorm" for thirty years, should be familiar with this play, but this time she has a kind of excitement, excitement and nervousness of a newcomer, "We seriously read the script, wrote a biography of the characters, did not land a step down, and finally waited for the day of the premiere, it was indeed a little exciting." In her opinion, this time they are not only playing the person written by the writer, but also approaching the character to find something in common with themselves, injecting blood and flesh into the character, making it more vital, and the form of understanding and expression is closer to the contemporary audience. What the audience will see, they are also looking forward to.

The curtain has not yet been opened, through the screen you can see an antique sofa in the middle of the stage, in Pu Cunxin's view, this sofa representing love is the logo of this play. Unlike the realistic version of the classic version, this version of the stage pays more attention to the creation of imagery and atmosphere. Dark, heavy, layered clouds always pressed above the stage, and the walls of the room were lead black, allowing the oppressive atmosphere to spread from beginning to end, which is what Pu Cunxin called "letting the stage set and music participate in the performance together."

Because when she played "Thunderstorm" many years ago, the scene of Zhou Ping jumping out of the window caused the audience to snicker, so that Pu Cunxin has always been a little grumpy about this play. And what really made him want to be a director to rearrange this play was because he saw the 1934 version of the "Thunderstorm" script a few years ago, "It was simply a precious mine, and when I read it, I found many forgotten precious fragments." Therefore, this version of "Thunderstorm" is based on the 1956 version, and adds a lot of the content from the 1934 version," During the rehearsal performance, many audience members said that this sentence was well written, but in fact, it was not written by us, it was the words in Cao Yu's original script. Tang Ye, the director who co-directed "Thunderstorm" with Pu Cunxin, said. The newly added part has delicate emotional dramas and important plots, such as Zhou Ping's suicide gun is not from Zhou Puyuan, but lu Dahai gave him. Pu Cunxin also believes that he found a password for this play, "Is Zhou Puyuan a person in the bureau, does he know the turmoil that has occurred at home?" In the previous version, Zhou Puyuan did not know, more like a bystander, and in this version, he implied that he actually knew by saying that he was moving. These details unearthed from the 1934 version of the script are like clues, strung together to give rise to different interpretations of the characters.

According to the musical cues written in Mr. Cao Yu's original work, the play not only uses the foreshadowing of the fragment of the commentary", but also integrates the elements of classical music and ethnic music through it, and finally ends with piano and strings, "This is a heavenly sound, which is the pity of Mr. Cao Yu's poetry." The two directors said.

The play will run until October 17.
