In 1950, Fan Zhenyu worshipped Ma Sanli's disciple Ban Degui as his teacher. After his apprenticeship, Fan Zhenyu joined the cross-talk team of the Tianjin Heping District QuYi Troupe where Ban Degui worked. There, Fan Zhenyu met Gao Yingpei, who was a year younger than him, and the two began to partner. After the dissolution of the Heping District Music Troupe, all the actors were delegated. Gao Yingpei squatted three wheels, and Fan Zhenyu burned the boiler until 1976.
After returning to the stage, Gao Yingpei and Fan Zhenyu were seconded by the Tianjin Qu Art Troupe, but they failed to turn right. However, due to the misfortune and blessing, they were favored by the leaders of the ACFTU Cultural and Labor Troupe and transferred to Beijing in 1979, and have had a bigger stage since then. In 1985, Gao Yingpei was named one of the "Top Ten Laughing Stars" in China. Although Fan Zhenyu did not win this award, he and Gao Yingpei were mutual achievements. Fan Zhenyu's first apprentice was Zhao Jinsheng. At that time, Fan Zhenyu was in Beijing and specially returned to Tianjin to collect apprentices. Before receiving the apprentice, Zhao Jinsheng knew Fan Zhenyu, but Fan Zhenyu did not know Zhao Jinsheng. The reason why Zhao Jinsheng worshipped Fan Zhenyu is that this is the result of the matchmaking between Ma Sanli, Ma Zhiming's father and son, and Wang Minglu. Wang Minglu is a cross-talk writer. Many of the cross-talk performed by Gao Yingpei and Fan Zhenyu were created by Wang Minglu, and "Gao Fan Wang" was once an iron triangle. Wang Fengshan volunteered himself and gave Ma Sanli a thumbs up. The two hit it off, and the cooperation was 14 years. After Wang Fengshan's death, Ma Sanli did not find a partner again, but changed to stand-up.
If Wang Fengshan had not partnered with Ma Sanli, Zhao Jinsheng would not have had the opportunity to approach Ma Sanli, let alone get Ma Sanli's guidance.
